I dunno about where you guys live, but here we've an arcade auction 3-4 times a year :D If you've one near your house, you might be able to find a cheap, broken cabinet with the guns as well?

My brother has bought so many that now his personal arcade is starting to get a little crowded :D

Wow, I would have to lose my pool talble to put in that many cabinets or take out the bar...Neither is really acceptable.

I have read a one of the science of discworld. I don't think any of them are currently in print in the US. I will have to check on that. I just did get a copy of "Where is my cow?". Freaking hilarious! (This is the book that Vimes is always rushing home to read to his kid). My brother just had a kid and so in a couple years I will be the strange uncle that has all the cool toys and reads that weird cow book.

Maybe you can hit up a cabinet repair place and scavenge an old wild gunman cabinet. If not, they always have broken shooter machines and would part with a couple of the metal gun holders pretty cheap. Alot of the newer shootes run a cable through some squared steel tubing to a stand that holds the guns and start/pause buttons. One of those would be killer! you could keep it to the side when not needed, but break it out for some nice gunplay!

I love that idea I never thought to hit up a local repair place. Kudos :) A Stand would be nice, but space is so limited with all the other things crammed in the room that it would just be impractical hence the search for the perfect holsters to bolt on the side :) Thanks!

I used to loooove going to the auctions. The AA auctions in Indianapolis were the best, the one in Columbus always had higher bidders and prices were a bit inflated compared to Indy. Good times. Love those shots that is what my old place used to look like 10 years ago, then I decided to downsize and go to a single cabinet. I love that Crazy Taxi cabinet I never went crazy on cockpits or other specialty cabs just normal uprights and one cocktail :) Thanks for posting that. I would love it if you could post anything on auctions going on around your area, the AA auctions are no longer held around here anymore, and I haven't found anything comparable.

You got it, Zapp. When I talk to my brother tomorrow, I'll try and remember to ask him for the information on those auctions. It's been a while since I attended one, but, they really are a great deal of fun. Walking around, trying out all of the games for free. My cousin and I beat the old TMNT while it was being auctioned for sale!

Good time. :)

LOL Yeah, busted...that is one of the best parts of the auctions, just testing all the different units :) Always had my 100 ft. extension cord along with lol. There used to be a great newsgroup for swapping/selling/collecting JAMMA PCBs but it has been so long I can't remember what the name was...oh well newsgroups kind of died a few years ago anyways unless you are into da WareZ lol :D

I've noticed that my local craigslist has also been filling up with arcade cabinets, like crazy. The funniest part is, they're selling or attempting to sell for hundreds more than they purchased for them :D I love craigslist. It's one of the only places you can find someone selling a used copy of Madden '08 for $15,

You really aren't joking about that lol. I mean WAY overpriced. There si even some guy in Columbus selling a crappy rebuild with an old (very old) version of MAME and a few ROMs for 1 to 2 grand. He is bloody insane and so is the guy wanting 900 for a non-working Ms. Pacman cocktail cab. I mean jeez get with the program. Madden 08 for 15$ I lol'd :)

I'll wager the worst part is that some people actually pay those prices. If they didn't, I don't think these people would even attempt to try those ridiculous prices! Personally, I extensively research prices for anything I purchase. From e-liquids to video games to furniture and cars. Yes, I am cheap but I am damn good at it ;)

I wouldn't call it cheap. :) Frugal maybe :) My hero is Clark Howard! LoL Nothing wrong with getting the best deal so you have more to spend elsewhere. Indeed I'm sure that there are a few that don't know better and end up paying that which makes me a bit sad, feels like exploitation. But can't help everyone and lord knows I'm not selling mine off anytime soon lol :)

OH, and Terry Pratchett is the single greatest writer of this generation, satire and parody are my favorite types of comedy and his books have the extremely rare trait of making me laugh out loud, something only P.J. O'Rourke used to do :) I cried when I found out he had Alzheimer's disease :(

Yes!!

"Terry Pratchett may still be pegged as a comic novelist, but ... he's a lot more. In his range of
invented characters, his adroit storytelling, and his clear-eyes acceptance of humankind's foibles,
he reminds me of no one in English literature as much as Geoffrey Chaucer. No kidding." -Washington

I hae probably distributed about 15 copies of the nice and accurate prophesies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (yes in hard back with the jacket removed). Usually followed by a paperback of small gods. Obviously the brightest and greatest comedic satirist of our age.

900 for a broken Ms. Pacman...there was a free one here a while back but I had no way to go get it (my girl was out of town, so no jeep.) You would never guess it but they will fit in the back of jeep with the back seat taken out.
