Unregulated double 18650 box mod w/ on board charging. Pretty compact for what's inside about the size of a pack of analogs

Here's the insides of this one.
Any pointers would be appreciated as this is my first box mod, and I'm not used to building things that need to me small. Also I used a toggle switch I had lying around but I would rather have a button. Anyone know where I can get a low profile button that will handle very low ohm builds like .1 and under?

That's the holy grail for modders...which is pretty much why I took to building my own with contacts I salvage out of heavy duty relays...the contact in my russian tractor mod (the clear hammond box a couple pages back) can handle what a VTC can put out and then some...

Nice work btw...but using a toggle is a little scary (but you probably know that, lol)

Whats the blue boxy thingy and what type of enclosure is that? wow spaghetti.

Nvr mind its a 4056 but what is the protrusion on the face of the box.. looks like it goes to the 4056..

Hoping you have a link for that enclosure...Pls likes it a lot..

I saw a acrylic mod someone built a few weeks ago and loved it, so I had to give it a shot! I've learned acrylic is interesting to work with... especially gluing it (welding). I built a Vamo acrylic mod. This is my second version, first was a lot bigger, I really am enjoying the size... 3 1/4 in high, 1 1/2 wide and 1 1/8 deep. I have a charger board on the bottom.

The box Vamo is FAR cooler than the tube Vamo, IMO! Plus, with the onboard charging chip, it functions better as a mod. Well done! Vamo projects get no accolades around here because they are not capable of producing ridiculous wattage, but I appreciate the craftsmanship here! {not everyone needs even 15 watts, either!} :2c::)

Thanks, I agree on watage.. I rarely go over 5 volts, but, I was speaking to a very good friend yesterday, and his take on it is that the dna gives a smother vape... I'm still happy with what I'm using... This box still isn't what I want, but getting closer.. there is a big learning curve working with acrylic, but I'm getting there. My next build will be a dual 18650 unless I change my mind... cutting the 45 degree angle cuts might be very challenging..

Thought I would post a couple of my first box. Seems only right since I figured everything out primarily from info on this site. This is an Evercool with the TI 8100 chip. The box works awesome and I can go two days dripping with my TOBH built at .6 ohms on one set of Sonys. Thanks to all the members who did the hard part figuring out this circuit so dummies like me can have cool boxmods to puff on!

I haven't cut a hole for the pot to be accessed from outside the box yet. I may not though, I don't change the voltage very much. I set it on about 4.5 volts and that's where it has stayed ever since.

Here's the money shot! LOL

I made improvements to my dangerous mech mod a while back ago. Best part about this is that the box was purchased at Radio shack.

20140514_182237.jpg
Two 18650 in parallel for longer use time. (Two battery come from laptop pack which is not recommended to do)

In this picture above the improvement is that ugly connector is gone for something much nicer looking.

What makes it dangerous is the screw coming out from the side, since I don't use sockets or proper charger for these batteries I use an ego charger that clips positive to the screw and negative to the connector body.

That is one of the tightest, cleanest utilitarian builds I've seen in a while, well done...if I where to change anything...snip your ground lead and wire in a nice heavy duty fuse holder and run a 10A-15A fuse, plus you've got room in there to pack a spare...

There are two 15 amp parallel fuses. The two 18 gauge positive wires coming off the battery contacts are each connected to a fuse (covered in black heat shrink) a single 14 gauge wire is connected to the other end of the fuses and then the switch.

I thought that was just a splice...nice find on those fuses, exactly what I've been looking for myself (currently building a parallel 18650 bottom feeder in a Hammond 1550P, tight fit, even with my own mech. switch) , I've only been able to find 7A resettables. Link saved...

Looking at your workmanship...you have to be a tradesman?

Wow, that's clean. How in the world do you get a square hole that precise?

Layout in cad (free program qcad), print out paper template, glue on enclosure (glue stick, washes off with soap and water), automatic center punch for holes, drill holes, use flat file and mini file set, check with digital calipers. There are 3 layers of tinted vinyl over the voltmeter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CCSD5U0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Chopping up a phone screen protector also works http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008CMCMN6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
