That is my daughter, Adia and she is not a small girl. She just turned 9 and she is 4'10 and wears a women's size 5 shoe! So, yes, that's a BIG cat. His name isn't Sampson Fats-Mcghee for nothing, LOL
Sampson is a Norwegian Forrest Cat which a very large breed cat. He actually isn't that big for his breed. He is a beast though, especially if you are used to a normal size cat (or a little hairless ......) He has almost 1 inch long fangs, webbed feet, and a 3 layer extra thick coat. He can jump almost 6 feet in the air too. When he wants to sleep, he jumps up and turns the light switches off in the house! I love that cat!
And to think, I wanted a Savannah before... sounds like a very cool kitty. How's his temperament? I'm guessing not rag-doll compliant.
He has the best temperament. He doesn't care about anything! My daughter treats him like a baby doll and he just takes it. When he gets tired of her, he just runs off and hides for a while. He still gets playful occasionally too especially if there is a laser pointer involved! He likes belly rubs and watching TV and he is trained to use the toilet but he doesn't flush, lol. He "talks" to me when I talk to him and comes when I call him. He gets along with all the other pets and plays with them too. When the dogs or bird get too rough, he puts them in their place and goes about his business. He is kind of a pretty cool mix of a dog and a cat if that makes sense.
Funny story...when the bulldogs were puppies he used to try to keep them out of trouble. He would lead them around and make them lay down in their beds and when they would yap at him, he would smack them with a paw! It was so funny! Now they try to bite his tail and he teases them with it. When they finally grab a hold of it, he yanks it free and they are left with a mouth full of hair that they are unhappy about, Lol. But they never learn, he tricks them every time. He only eats Evolve cat food, nothing else, not even tuna fish that most cats would go crazy over. The only time he gets very assertive is when the dogs try to eat his food. But he lets the Ferret and the bird take a bite occasionally??
Cats do weird stuff... of course, no matter how big I was, I'd know better than to piss off a ferret. They may be small, but they are mischievous little buggers.

Thanks!...and honestly I have never been a cat person either but I love him. He doesn't act like a cat all the time. I have a hairless cat too and that little rat is a pain in the ***. Gives all the other pets hell and is a mean little bugger....
Every time I claim to be a dog guy, I wind up with another cat...I think one of ours is pregnant again...shoot me.
