Here are my babies, Julie (black/tan) and Leo (red). Leo is lovingly referred to as "the idiot dog" around here. He was a rescue from a really nasty puppy mill, he was overbred so he's not so bright. He was also apparently hit by a woman because he, after over 2 years, is finally starting to trust me. He forgets where the dog door is sometimes, or he'll forget and try to go in through the glass door (smack). BUT he's the sweetest little thing in the world. Neither dog has ever snapped at my kids or anyone else. They are yappy dogs though - both are long haired chihuahuas.

And this one just cuz I think they always look like drowned rats during a bath. They are NOT a fan ;)

LOL, Cassie giving dogs a bath to hide the evidence of the powdered sugar explosion. I'm scrubbing KitchenAide with a toothbrush. by CandyTX, on Flickr

So Cute! My big boy Stewart is pretty much the same as Leo, super sweet but not all there sometimes and he is afraid of everything. He has tried walking through the glass door several times and it takes days for him to not be afraid to go outside again.

Leo would say "Hi". Julie would totally blow him off. Julie is... well, a diva. She hates other dogs, Leo though... he loves other dogs and is leery of humans (smart dog).

Loving this thread... I'm, obviously, a small dog person... but...

I don't have photos of my daughter's birds, but this is my husband's bearded dragon (which stays in his man cave!), Kerrigan

Hahahaha! He and Leo would be great together! I swear, Leo sometimes just amazes me that he manages to live at times. For the first year we had him, he'd forget who I was and I'd come around the corner after being in my office for a few hours and he'd start barking and trembling until I said something and then it was all "oh, it's you, mom!". D'oh!

Stewart does the same thing, something will scare him and he will run and hide under my tall gaming table. All you have to say it it's alright and he comes running out tail (well whole body) wagging.

He is terrified of Rufus's cone, think it smacked him once and he won't go anywhere near him with it on now. If Rufus is standing at the door with it on he won't come in.

Can't remember what the lab said the lumps ended up being but I do remember they said it could easily turn into a big problem if not removed so we made the right call. They also said it is something that may pop up in the future too so we have to keep an eye out for them.

ROFL... oh no! Not the cone! Anything but the cone!

Hahaha... the paper shredding company has this one guy that comes now and then that is TERRIFIED of my little dogs. I'm like "dude, they might lick you to death, but that's about it"

Yeah, people are always terrified of my dogs when they first meet them, especially because of all the Pit misinformation out there. There is not a mean bone in either of them, especially Stewart, I don't think I have ever even heard him growl.

They are the WORST guard dogs :p

Yep! Surprising how many people are frightened of little 7 lb BUTCH. He is a TERRIBLE guard dog, but a GREAT watch dog, as he barks at anyone who walks past the house!

They sound all fierce, don't they? I swear, Leo thinks he's a 120 pound big dog... until someone comes in the house and then he cowers and hides. Julie just rolls over and begs for belly rubs LOL

Found this thread and thought I'd share my dogs, the Jack Russel was Rosco, I say was because I lost him in Oct 2009, I really loved him, he knew every trick in the book and could jump as high as I am, and I'm 6' 2". He used to knock squirrels off the top of the fence, kill em and bring em to the door like he wanted a reward or something, Did the same thing with birds and what ever else he could catch. He loved the water, loved boat rides, he would bite and bark at the wake of the boat and teeter over the edge and sometimes fall overboard, I'd circle back to get him, put him in the boat and he'd go at it again. I cried like a baby when he died, he was 15 and we had him for 13 years. At that time I thought I would never want another dog.

My wife's sister brought a little 8 week old dachshund(weenie dog)over and said he needed a home, I said no initially, it had only been 3 months since I lost Rosco. She brought him back again and I said OK, his little needle teeth tore my hands to shreds playing with him, I originally wanted to name him Pepsi, because he was as tall as a Pepsi can but decided on Tazzy short for Tasmanian Devil. His official name is Tasmania Pepsi Wolfe, lol, we just call him Tazzy though. He's a big ham, he sticks to me like glue, is in my lap as I type. He is very needy, wants attention all the time, if I ignore him he lets me know it and barks at me. THEN along came another weenie dog, Baby Girl, she got that name cause when I first got her I would come home from work and she was so cute and little and so excited to see me I'd call her Baby Girl and it just stuck. I actually got her cause I thought Tazzy would leave me alone for while each day but I think that backfired and now they both are on me lol. Sorry for such a lengthy post here's some pics.

Such a beautiful dog and your description of him made me both smile and cry, I'm sorry for your loss.

Love the dachshund's too, they are beautiful!
