Mine doesn't have the pure-dee lived-in funk of Shorty's or the oh so squared away, can-find-anything-no-problem beauty of Rockproof's, but I call it home. My little escape pod.

ETA: Well, I can't seem to get the pic to be big enough see :(

EETA: AH, here we go:

And even more ETA: After getting fed up d**king with imageshack's weird SLOW user interface, I found postimage.org. You don't even have to register there, so no 'another damn password to remember write down & lose.'

Lookin' like yo vapo is runnin' a little Texas Free Radio...with his own meteorology station, atta boy!

One of the reasons why I started this thread is because my buddies that have these little sanctuaries tucked away somewhere in their houses...seems their personalities are reflected...the Mr. Clean "all is in order" type, the don't bug me with the details "I'm a big picture idea man" type, the "I must know what's inside the black box and how does it work? type (me)

...I think what the common thread here is we all seem to call our work benches home or our "happy place", a place where we go at the end of the day to lower our blood pressure...we may not all be machinists, plumbers, carpenters or electronic techs but at our work benches we can at least pretend.

Nice sanctum sanctorum, Gervis; lots of cool stuff too! Appears Mr. Gervis is a hunter, but with a .50 cal BMG?? Eliminates the need for a grinder, I guess. ;-)

I wish I could be (and stay) that neat and organized. Looks like you can instantly put your hand on whatever it is you're looking for. I could arrange my area that neatly, no doubt, but as soon as I touched it it'd be right back where it was.

ETA: And thanks for the reminder to look into those plastic balusters as project box material.

Mini lathe? I started looking into those yesterday. Me want! Be sure to get good pics of that for us, will you?
I'm loving this tool-porn.

Good shooting! My granddaughter qualified as expert, but not with 388, LOL. She was well within expert range, no problem, but at (I'm old; memory is not great) 328? (305 required, I believe)

Would be nice to know where everything is, instead of having to remember what I was doing last time I used a tool.

If I come up w/ a good mod, don't worry; I'll let everyone know. Or even if it's a so-so one. :D

 Jon

For weeks now I've been trying to figure out how to convince the wife to let me buy this...

Come on honey, what's a couple grand???...maybe I'll just get my dad to buy it, then I'll borrow it and never give it back like he did with my Makita 12" push/pull compound miter saw:mad::D

Kinda blurry, but you don't really want to see too much detail with this, trust me. Can be activated in about 15 seconds.
