Sick of Leaking, Makeing me want to quit trying

Drummer I feel your pain... When I got into vaping I had a K101 running a Smoktech UDCT with the filler material it was awesome didn't leak once! Replaced the carto (3-4 times with replacements from smoktech) leaking so much. I switched to Protank Mini V1 one flavor wick out awesome, but had an awful taste of metal from the tip I'm guessing. Got a Protank 2 had a 1.8 ohm coil one flavor wick out (at the time I had just switched to 100% VG juice) and it was leaking and flooding a lot, wasted near 3 tanks of liquid and getting the taste of metal. I too was getting very upset and wanting to quit. I swapped out the drip tip for an acylic one and the 1.8 ohm head for a standard 2.5 ohm reisistance head, keeping all flavor wicks in this time and problem solved. I have no leaking and no flooding at all 5-6 tanks in now and no bad metal taste in my mouth.

All in all, I don't think you should give up. Just tinker with it trial and error and I'm sure you will find the perfect set up for your needs.

Definitely don't give up. Are you filling your tanks completely full?

Do you have a supply of replacement heads? I have experienced leaking which I cant figure out & the only thing that corrects it is to replace the head. The quality control is not great as once I had to replace heads 3 times before finding one that doesn't leak.

I know firsthand how frustrating it is to cough up the dough & wind up with a bunch of duds. I've had this happen on Protanks & Evods.
I would just give up fighting the leaky mess & replace the heads. That's the only thing that worked.

I found a bad batch & finally fixed the problem by taking out a new head from a different box. Finally I was up & going without any leaks. Who knows how the different Chinese assembly line works. Maybe I got a box from someone who was new at the assembly line.
When I went through the fiasco of changing 3 heads I was using 100 % VG. I couldn't get them to stop leaking to save my life.

Just goes to show you that you cant have enough backups.

Good luck solving your problem. Surely you will find an answer. It took me 3 tries with the same problem, so don't give up.

You mention too much BS on the internet.....well, I agree. There is too much BS. There is far too much of people saying how great their items are. However, I do believe that people genuinely appreciate different things. There are things I would never use (having tried them), but sooner or later, someone will say how brilliant it is.

Sadly, you started off with some bad kit. The eGo-T has been on the hit list by those in the know for over 18 months.
The Protank is not 100% reliable, but most people get on OK with it.

I've been using mini protanks now for 3 months (or 2 1/2 maybe) and not had a leak yet.
I wasted too much money on T3s, they all leaked for me.

These days, I use carto tanks and mini protanks. Nothing else.

I'm boring - I use cigalikes (eRoll and 510-T) when I'm not dripping. And I have a couple of guaranteed ways to make them leak.

1) Draw too hard. I can't draw on a cigalike the same way I can on an analog.
2) Leave tanks with higher VG juice in a hot environment (like my car) while on their side. This doesn't *always* result in leaking, but I'm likely to have some seepage that way. Or tucked on a hot laptop above the function keys. Not really leaking, but sometimes seepage.
3) Get lazy and don't clean my gear. Bad idea.
4) Damage parts - particularly tank caps. That was a serious learning curve for me.

Once I figured out how I was contributing to the problem and changed my behavior, I rarely run into even little leaks.

Best recommendation I have is to breathe, remember that this is a lot better for you than analogs. But if you aren't enjoying vaping, there's also nothing wrong with the option you mentioned earlier - cut back and quit entirely (if that's what you choose to do).

Do you have a local brick and mortar you can visit for some help?

get yourself a half decent device ,vamo,zmax,provari and a good locking carto tank and some carto's, i use Fluid flasks,and buy bulk boge cartos for less then $1 each and they last about two weeks a piece for me,never have any leaks...ever. and always get great vapor production,just be sure to be sure to prime the cartos and be sure they are soaked before you fire it up the first time each time you put in a new carto and you will be in vaping heaven.

I did not have leaking issues, but was not happy with the performance of the protank (gurgling, output) on ego VV battery. I upgraded to the innokin iTaste SVD and am much happier.

All points above are no doubt worthy of consideration, I just have a thought/tip to add. I use clearomizer tanks, mostly top-coil but recently have bought a couple of bottom-coils as well. When I've had leaks (and I've had them with all 3 of the clearomizer tank types that I have), they have always been at the bottom of the tank either into the top of the battery or also thinly running down the outside. I fixed this by using a tissue to wipe all the THREADS of every screw-in part that I removed when I re-filled a tank. Wipe them dry. What can happen is that if there is any liquid on the threading -- even just a fine film -- it will "draw" more liquid out of the tank, similar to osmosis. There is probably a term for it, actually, but I don't know what that would be. Since I've been doing this, and then screwing things together tightly (all except when screwing the clearomizer onto the battery -- screw that down firmly but don't tighten much), I almost never have any leaking and if I do, I re-wipe the threads and put it back together.

I get about a week out of ProTank coils/heads. As soon as I hear a gurgle, they go into the bin. The only cost a little over $1 each.

The G6 mini tank is disposable, so it lasting about a week sounds about right.

Pros of replaceable coil heads. Try taking the oring off and drying it out.

I love this tank but hate the steel tip, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Have you seen any of these or like these with a derlin tip. I was gonna try poly next.

I've only been vaping for five months, so I'm not an expert, but it does seem to me that nothing is 100% leak-proof. Right now I'm using EVOD clearos (clones) and they seem to work really well. Maintenance is important though, and I do clean the airtube and bottom threading with cotton swabs when refilling, and make sure that the atomizer head is securely screwed in. Eventually the heads will go bad and start leaking, but changing them is both easy and cheap. I also use single coil carto tanks. Great, but they will start leaking after a while. Changing the carto often enough remedies that (I'm sure the still ok cartos could be made to work properly again, but I don't feel it's worth the hassle). Hope you find something that'll work for you (everyone seems to have different experiences with the same stuff, some love EVODs, some hate them, but nothing will be completely maintenance-free).

I have the Halo Triton, I use the original T2 tanks that came with it and the Smoktech Tumbler tanks. The only time I've had any leaking issues with either is when I overfilled the tanks during refill. Not huge leaks, just a bit of liquid. I've found two methods on Youtube videos that helped prevent any further leaking even with overfilling.

The first method is putting your pinky finger up through the bottom of the tank and covering the hole, then sucking the air out of the tank about three times. If the draw is too airy, you're not covering the hole well enough. When my nails have grown too long, I'll stuff a cloth into the base and hold it real tight with my index finger to block the air from coming up through the base of the tank.

The second method is to put a cloth or paper towel over the mouthpiece and swing your arm, tossing the tank forward about two or three times. You only lose a small dot of liquid on the cloth or paper towel.

Both of these methods have worked well for me, so I use either one right after I refill a tank as preventative maintenance. Rarely do I get any popping, gurgling, or leaks on a whole tankful of juice. I even dropped my Triton with a T2 tank from chest high onto a stone tile floor the other morning, it didn't break the tank, no dings on my Triton, and it didn't leak.

One of these methods might help you out if you try them. Good Luck
