wasted a lot here, but did find some I like daily now. I've found 4 or 5 that fit my personal taste preferences. I have some bottles that are lacking in flavor so I let them sit and try them at intervals. Also have some juices that are almost too strong, but good flavors. I keep the ones that don't have much taste around and mix them with my stronger good juices, especially the high VG ones.

I just threw out a bunch of crap from my initial spending spree. Some horrible stuff I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Now I DIY and buy Nicoticket for when my DIY goes flat. There are some days when I just can't taste anything. So i mix menthol and vape some of my crappy experiments in between.

I have a couple really good DIY mixes. Just waiting on more glassware to arrive so I can mix a few to steep. waiting 4-6 weeks is brutal but worth it for a custard that is Killer.

I'm at a 10% I would purchase again, 20% I thought were alright and the other 70% I couldn't stand.

I've spent a lot of cash trying to find an all day vape. I ended up going down the DIY route too. The money I save means I can splurge on a bottle of 'premium' e-liquid every now and then.

Finding a flavor you really like is the 'hardest' part of vaping. Best recommendation I can give you is always buy the smallest bottle you can - maybe look for vendors that offer sample packs. You might also try to find a local store where you can go and try some flavors before buying. Just remember most of the liquids you will try will be at 0mg, so the flavor will change when you buy it at the nic strength you prefer - so again, buy small bottles.

I would never buy a lot of a particular e-liquid unless you are absolutely sure you like it. I know it sounds like common sense, but many people see a liquid sale and start buying 30, 50 or 100ml bottles without trying it first. That's just a good way to collect a bunch of liquid you probably won't vape. The other thing is your tastes will change over time - especially if you are a newer vaper.

Don't believe the hype. I've pretty much stopped reading e-liquid reviews as taste is so subjective. I might take a quick look at a flavor profile of one I might be interested in, but dropping $30 on 30ml of premium liquid just because someone said it was the best ever can be an expensive treasure hunt.

Finally, remember you can change some liquids from disgusting to vapeable by adding a few drops of menthol, some liquid sweetener or some plain old VG. I have all three on hand and have turned some pretty horrific liquids into something I can vape.

I have found so very little that I like from vendors that it pushed me into DIY and now I get like / dislike vendors of the flavors
But I would venture to say that of all the juice i bought from different vendors there are less than 5% I would buy again. But then everything changes and a vendor that was "meh" before may have turned around and started producing better tasting juices. But as a whole DIY is the real way to go; that way there is nobody to blame but yourself if it comes out crappy. :D

Yep,
I definitely have some pretty gross juices I keep around to cut my DYI standby from time to time, just to give em a lil punch.
But, aside from plenty of weird experimenting, even the mix I settled on stops tasting like anything every 2-3 months – thankfully there is a local custom spot I can go get a small bottle of something to reset the pallet. Good excuse for a trip to sample town!

A place with good variety that you can try and buy small bottles from is where its at

If you liked the juices in the first place, but got tired of them, just put them away for a while; in a couple of months you might like them all over again.

For juices that taste horrible; there's probably no remedy.

For juices that taste weak, there are several things you can use to try to tweak them up a bit. Menthol (or "Candy Cane" flavoring), vanillin crystals, saline, ethyl maltose, sweeteners, lemon juice, etc. (I only add lemon juice "in the tank" or to very small volumes of e-liquid; it can be great at first but spoils rapidly).

If you have a juice that tastes good, but starts tasting bad partway through a tank, try dripping it instead.

You may need to try different power levels. Some juices don't come out until you vape them at relatively high power, others are much better at lower power levels.

Worst-case, PIF them to someone else. Everybody's tastes differ, and even if you absolutely hate something someone else might really like it. (Trust me on that one....)

I've got a box of bottles that, when I feel bored, I reach in and grab one, to try again. Usually, they still bite, but sometimes I'm surprised, or I discover that I "know" how to fix that one...

You're not alone, Drifts. Two things I did to help. First, I signed up with an e-liquid subscription service. I still get stuff I'm not crazy about, but I get to try different e-liquids and I go back and buy more of what I liked.

Second, it's not for everyone, but I started to DIY my own e-liquids. Again, I still make stuff I sometimes don't care for, but at least that's my own fault, lol.

I have a lot of friends who vape. So we try each other's flavors until we find what we like. But what we like may not be what we like next week. I try to stick with one or 2 sweet flavors and 2 fruity flavor ones. My wife has found an all day vape and she is usually good with sticking to that for several months before venturing off into new flavors.. All of her flavors revolve around watermelon type flavors.

So far there are only 2 or 3 juices that I really enjoy. I love vaping but get tired of juices rather quickly. I keep spending money and I need to budget myself. I guess it just takes time finding your fav juices. How many of you guys wasted money in the beginning buying juices that end up sitting on your shelf?

I surely wasted a lot of money the first couple months. Now I just buy juice from one good source in Pennsylvania....they have the best I have bought anywhere.

This is my first post, I'm not sure if I can mention the name of the company.

Not sure how long you've been vaping, Drifts, but you might be going through that "nothing tastes good" phase (i.e. Vapor's Tongue). I'm so flavor ADD that I'm constantly changing things up (although, my B&M had a few "regulars" that I would always go back to.) However, buying from the B&M was getting expensive (not to mention a touch embarrassing when I'd walk in and they'd call me by name and pull out an order pad for me )

I started DIYing this summer. I've dropped about $125 on supplies (VG/PG/Nic/flavors), but I now can make whatever I feel like (although I'm still missing a few staples) - enough for more than 2000mL

I love the freedom, and I've been pretty lucky in that I haven't made too many "mistakes" that I've had to make go away :p

I still have a small handful of bottles of juice I'd bought early on. I took one bottle and added some more flavorings and came up with my .......ized rendition of Five Pawns Gambit. The apple is a bit faint, but considering it was an experiment, it's not too bad, and I'll finish that bottle, rather than letting it sit idly by collecting dust.

If you really don't like it - PIF to a buddy to see if they like it. If it's salvageable, find something with which to mix it. If it really sux, make it go away

Just have fun :) :vapor:

ETA: sorry 'bout the "bad word"

I've only been vaping a couple months. I tired of tobacco flavors quickly. My name for all tobacco favors is Stale Cigarette Butts. I speculated I might like coffee flavor and I was right. I drink coffee every day so it's obviously a flavor I don't tire of and the same applies to vaping. I'm going to do DIY early next year. There is a discussion in the DIY forum about making coffee flavor. It turns out the best coffe flavor comes by extracting it from your own beans, the technique appears to be simple and reliable. I may end up only vaping coffee flavor in different variations. How about ice coffee or coffee ice cream, both favorites of mine. There are a lot of ways to prepare coffee.

to ecf Drifts. So glad you are here and so sorry you are having a hard time finding just the right juices. Tell you the truth, that is the main reason I got into making my own. And I am proof that is very easy to do.

I surely understand what you are talking about though. Here is a link that I use to follow and they have some very good vendors and some fantastic deals. It is nice to save when you are trying to find what makes your taste buds dance.

Good luck to you and I look forward to hearing some juice reviews and how happy you are vaping.
