To start off, I live in Canada, so any suggestions for options would be better if the item was available in country. My current set up right now is a ego twist + vivi nova with 2.4 ohm atties. The whole vaping experience has slowly become no longer enjoyable to me. The juice's I use aren't bad but the constant gurgling, loss of flavor and muted taste has made me go back to cigarettes. I really need help here and with so much information I have no idea where to start. So I have two questions. First, if money was not an issue, what setup would you be using? What gives the absolute best flavor and vapor (device and attie/clearomiser combination), without being a hassle. I'd like to note the one thing I do like about vivi novas is that I can simply swap out old atties when they die. I don't want to drip and seem to prefer tank setups. Second question would be, if your were on a slight budget (not lowest price option) what would you use as a setup? What device and attie/tank/clearomiser combination would you choose? I know these types of threads are started quite often, so any help is really appreciated. If I have to go with a provari + some kind of tank, then so be it, I just want a good quality consistent vape.

Thanks

That eGo-C Twist is good. U don't have to worry on that part of ur vaping, at least for now. IMHO, a Carto-Tank is usually better at VTF*. I use Boge F-16s, since the beginning, and have all the merry times a vape could give.

The Boge has a slimmer version, which'd fit the eGo (size wise) better - the F-15. They cost peanuts too. Try them and u'd know.

If you are using a twist, no need to go provari! The power source is the least of the problems. Imho, too many people focus on the power source, when the real "goods" are the juice and coil.

In re-reading your post, I'm really not sure what the problem is?? Sounds like you have given up without trying a bunch of things. There is no silver bullet here, just a bunch of small victories that keep us off the stinkies. I would suggest that you just plug away until you find something that works for you :)

You definitely don't need to go high dollar. Check out a Vamo V2. This thing is a steal for the price. As far as tanks go, I love my genuine Vision Vivi Nova. I have run into some gurgling issues but have found that it was caused by the silicon cap that covers the coil getting pushed off to the side a bit and when the tank was tipped too far it would allow it to leak a bit of excess liquid onto that drip cup. A quick wipe with a Q-Tip cleaned it right up. Good luck and keep pressing forward!

I really enjoy carto tanks, and I have found Baditude's blog helpful. E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

I started out with the smoktech tanks, which are very affordable but are not good with tanking cracking liquids (cinnamon, citrus). They were a great way to try out carto tanks without a big upfront cost. I prefer Boge cartomizers in them, but I have to punch them myself. Smoketech pre punched are also good, and I have heard great things about Ikenvape carto's.

Since i really like both cinnamon and citrus juice I have bought Pyrex carto tanks for my preferred juice delivery system ( I have a couple of rebuildable drippers for at home, mostly because I DIY juice).

For me carto tanks take a bit of time to set up, and once they are I have no problems until the carto is spent ( flavor drops off, or draw becomes quite tight). I have had clearo's, and for me I was frustrated that they worked great sometimes, and then partway thru a tank they started tasting burnt etc. I have ordered a Protank, since it has so many rave reviews, and am pretty excited about getting it.

I've tried vivi nova's, kanger t3's, vapeonly bcc, protank, stardusts, I clear 30 and evods. I like the flavour from carto's but dont have a tank yet so they don't get much use. The best vape I've had is from my little phoenix bully dripping atty. Not fond of the iclear 30 and the stardusts, viv's are very dependable and once you fiddle around with the bottom coil units and get them working right they are a dream. Protank has a wide open draw and tons of vapor. If I want a more realistic drag then I use my t3. I've had to add wick to every bottom coil unit I've used.

A lot of good options already given. Like most things it can be a game of inches where a couple of small seemingly insignificant changes might make a world of difference. I'd suggest that before you go out and drop any significant amount of cash give 2.8ohm coils in the vivi a try if you haven't already, they'll allow you to run higher voltages.

Personally I use the 2.8ohm rewicked with 1.5mm. of cotton wick and find it a sufficient both in vivis and stardusts.
But must add that the Protank with the 2.5ohm coil rewicked with cotton has been a bit of a game changer for me.

I really don't think that anything can touch a RBA for vapour and flavour once it's dialed in but they seem to take more of a commitment to make them to your liking. Too much for me, like rewicking coils may be too much for others.

If you're more of a wash and go person perhaps the protank would be the best/easiest option for you at this point in time
just know that they are prone to a little seepage at times. Nothing is perfect, it's all about what compromises you're willing to make. Happy tweaking/vaping.

Enough said. There is a plethora of options but sounds to me like it's a VTF issue (sorry Phil :) , vapor, throat hit, flavor). Look for a mechanical mod in your price range, then look for an RBA, use stainless steel wicks and 28 or 30 gauge kanthal wire. Your 99% of the way there! Lastly try all the juices, all of them! You will fuss with an RBA setup a few times but find that in the end it's much less of a PITA than silica, or carto's. Do NOT stop your search. VV or VW meh, try that later.

I'm still a complete noob at this, but take it for what you will. I use my Ego-C with the atto/tanks they came with. They do gurrgle, but this doesnt bother me so much. I have nothing to compare taste/vapor amount too - however I did just order some EVOD's to compare to.

After a horrifying experiance with the ego-c atty's primer, I almost gave up - until I read boiling them fixes is. Almost lost me at the start by that alone, really wish it said in the manual how to get rid of that crap.

Don't give up though, especially not for cigarettes! Maybe it's just me but, after 10 years of smoking a pack a day at $13/pack in Winnipeg - Even the cruddiest vapor flavor without removing the primer will still give you the nic fix your looking for, without killing you! Stay strong!

I like vivi novas, but they have a learning curve for the most part. You have to know what to do to them and how to treat them to get them working well 100% of the time, every single head you put in, with every single juice. Sometimes you have to thin out the wicks, sometimes you have to use less VG, sometimes you need to tip it, sometimes you need to cut the wicks shorter. But they do work. They can be a pain in the ... but they work well if you know how to trouble shoot coil set ups. Problem is, new vapers dont know how to troubleshoot coils and wicks. I have been using the kanger bottom coil types for a while and they work grrreat out of the box usually.. Although sometimes you have to troubleshoot them as well. Your feeding juice into a coil chamber so, things can happen. You just have to fiddle to get things going initially sometimes in my experience. Even with carto tanks.

I may have a ton of mods, rba's..etc....but my go-to kit at work is the following:

eGo Twist (or Spinner) + Kanger T3 (or Evod)

I also wash my coils/wick every 3-4 days, dry burn, and voila....a great go-to vape is back!

Note: depending on your juice viscosity, remove or add the necessary extra wick. For example, w/Boba's Bounty (all vg), I remove all the extra loose wick. But with an 80% or higher PG content I leave the extra wick.

Trial and Error is the key to vaping.

Don't give up on the vivi's either...since they are top coil, tipping is required, and a PG heavy content will help with wicking upwards.

The true vision vivi novas work great with the 2.4ohm heads at around 4.4v. If you vape only 1 flavor the taste will become muted as you become somewhat immune to the flavor over time. Best to have a few tanks with different flavors to mix it up during the day and keep well hydrated that will help your taste aswell. Dehydration muted flavor quite bad, 3+ L of water should be good in a day.

I'm using a Vivi Nova clone and it can't be filled to the top or it floods. I just fill to the wicks and tilt when it runs low. I've also switched to 32ga kanthal and 3mm wicks and it greatly improved over the stock build. I don't rebuild using the method I've seen on YTube though. I wrap the wire un annealed around a 3mm piece of steel rod and then thread the wick through it.
