Smok SID just came in the mail. OLED greeted with SMOK and I .. was.. vaping. Next morning, woke up, filled trophy v2 tank, threw in a freshly charged EH IMR 2000mah. No LED.. at all. But would still fire. So I vaped it throughout the day.. It would fire, then wouldn't fire.. LED then decided to work..for about 5 seconds.. then flickered and disappeared again. Now firing again.. No LED the rest of the day. Called Madvapes, and they sent me a paid return label.. so it got returned that evening. Now just waiting for the replacement in the mail.

My question is, Has anyone else had this problem? Could it be the type of battery I am using? etc? tank made contact fine.. Not too tight. Screwed on until contact, then raised the top piece to the tank. Frustrated..and pack of smokes is looking temping.

No, not at all Sam. Its drops in and has just enough room (Button top BTW) as if the tube was made around the battery. I was curious as the negative spring on the cap was the ''anodized'' coated terminal post. So I scratched it away to ensure it was making a good ground. to no avail though.
Now the OLED screen and fire button seemed to make quite a bit of rattling.
Hopefully once the new lightsaber gets here, ill be in business. But until then.. chain vaping the little ego =\

Hi and welcome to ECF!

First, try not to give in to the urges, but since the smokes are looking very tempting and your PV is gone, the best advice I can give you is this:

Don't count your failures by the number of cigarettes you smoke, count your successes by the ones you don't smoke!

The second piece of advice would be to purchase a "backup" PV as soon as your budget allows. This way if one "dies" you will still be able to vape. Just be careful to make sure you pick one that is fully compatible with the one you have already, so that your tanks and other accoutrements will work properly with it.

As for your PV, I don't have a SID, but I suspect that this is simply a defective unit. The SID is a fairly inexpensive mod, so it could just be a result of quality control or manufacturing tolerances. Hopefully your new one will arrive quickly and provide you with good service for a long time.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the encouragement! Much appreciated!

My SiD has worked fine so I am sure it is a faulty unit

Good to hear! I sure hope so. I loved it for the few minutes it worked! I ordered a set of flat tops JIC it was the issue once MV sends it back.

My SiD has worked fine so I am sure it is a faulty unit. BTW, I use flat top batteries in mine as that was recommended by my local shop. I trust they know what they are doing so have never tried a button top. You will really enjoy the SiD once you get the replacement.

I run nothing but button tops because that's the only type I have on hand, so long as they aren't too big it doesn't matter.

To the OP: Bad units happen, they "should" test your replacement before it goes out so I wouldn't worry too much. Just remember, back ups for your back ups. :)
