Gearbest had a sale recently in mid-April on the Sigelei 100W Plus, offering the unit in rose/gold only for $59.99 shipped. I thought, "Why not?" Everyone seems to like the 100W Plus (although many vapers prefer the 150W version), so I went for it. I'm in the process of switching over my huge inventory of existing hardware to higher-wattage regulated mods exclusively. I don't always sub-ohm, but all my lower-wattage gear has just sort of faded out for me. A Vision Spinner with an EVOD-style clearo, even one rebuilt with a 1-ohm coil and rayon/cotton wick, just no longer cuts it for me.
My new Sigelei 100W Plus arrived sooner than I expected, just a day or two past two weeks after ordering. My first reaction was, "Geez, this thing is HUGE!" At least it's huge compared to all my other boxes---iStick 20s/30s/50, Cloupor Mini 30s, KBOX 40s, Smowell 50s, and iPV Mini 30 and Mini 2 70s. To say that the Sigelei is a handful is an understatement.
In addition to its gargantuan size, other flaws irk me. While the firing button looks nice, it will sometimes stick if pressed slightly off-center. Scrolling through wattage settings is awkward---first nothing happens, then it scrolls at lightning speed, which makes selecting a specific wattage something of an irksome adventure. The flush 510 connection with its automatic spring-loaded pin works fine, but the top plate gets scratch rings from atties and tanks.
Despite all that, I'm warming to the mod. Battery life is stellar at the modest wattages I use (20-40W), and the magnet-secured battery door is solid as a rock and makes the every-other-day battery swaps easy. The included black silicon sleeve is a nice addition, giving the unit a more comfortable feel in the hand. Removing the sleeve to change batteries is a minor inconvenience I'm willing to put up with. The chip's display may not be the slickest in terms of graphic design, but I like that it shows a numerical percentage of remaining battery charge.
Performance is stellar, of course. I'm reserving the Sigelei for my higher-wattage tanks---SilverPlay RTA and Starre Tank---although I doubt that I'll be doing much vaping above 50 watts. I do find myself reaching for the Sigelei more often than I assumed I would, since using it makes me feel that I'm really doing something, LOL. All in all, a good deal for $60.
