Sigelei 150W Battery Malfunction

Hey guys,

I was wondering if any of you experts can tell me if this is fixable.. So I dropped my mod and the battery cap popped open and when it did, the battery inside slid out of it's slot. When it did that for some reason it started smoking up. The plastic around the battery started melting and one of the things ( I don't know what it is called) that the positive point of the battery touches popped up. Heres a picture:

I just got this a month ago too and apparently Asmodus does not cover this under warranty anymore even though its still within 90 days. Any help is appreciated.

Unfortunately most people cannot fix damage like that. Parts are probably Not available for replacement.
If it was mine, possibly, but I cannot advise you on repairs. To risky, not knowing your skill level.

Unfortunately, even if they did still do warranty work - DROP damage is considered abuse, not manufacturer defect.

* With damage like this, if one has to ask, best to replace.
:)

It's a fairly simple solder fix. The only problem is removing the sleds from the mod. You can't solder it without taking it apart since the plastic is in the way. That's the bottom of the mod, correct?

Do you know of a similar tutorial on how to do this? Also where would I be able to get if there is such a place to buy a replacement copper thing.

The battery probably vented and destroyed that part of the mod.

IMO that's not trivial to fix and you would probably only have a chance to to do it if you already knew how to go about it.

I can understand why they won't repair or replace it, it was after all damaged due to an accident you had with it, not due to anything they did wrong. In your position I would call it a loss and move on.

Contact pin sits in a Plastic Sled Track which is now Heat Damaged and Deformed.
Will take more than Soldering skills to make safe again.

* Note - That is a Positive Contact

I dont. I own the same mod. I looked at it. I would just start taking it apart. The copper thingy is simply your positive contact for that side of the sled. It connects either to a posi wire or to a tab inbedded in the sled. There are 4 screws in you battery compartment. I would start there. If you have any mechanical ability you should be able to suss it. If not, have somebody take it apart to evaluate it that knows what they are doing.

OP, have you every repaired anything electrical? AC Unit, PC (interal parts), etc? I would be worried that you could do a repair and miss something, which could possibly lead to an injury. If you were playing around with a PC, you're at least not bringing it to your face to take a drag, would hate for something to happen while you have it to your face.

I'm tight with my money as much as I can, and have dome a few (what I believe to be) simple repairs on my AC Unit and have built my own PCs, but I still wouldn't feel comfortable doing a repair on a device I'll be putting to my face often, at least without practice.

Whatever you decide, good luck.

Where did you buy it from? Sometimes a retailer willl replace things for you despite the warranty that comes with the device. The asmodus warranty isn't that great unfortunately.

If you got it online try emailing the retailer, it's worth a shot. Even though it's a user error they might be able to help.

Another thing I just remember after reading MattyTny's post, some vape shops also repair mods so that's another thing you can check. The B&M I used to frequent before I started DIYing my juice has a nice work bench, the guy makes mech box mods and I've seen him tinker a bit. One of the frequent "repairs" I saw there was people coming in with their RDAs jammed into their mods lol.
