For folks who wish to run at the higher power ranges, a lower resistance build is mandatory. Let's assume the max output voltage of the Sig 150 is 8V (I'm not sure what it actually is, but it's likely in that neighborhood), your 1.5ohm build is going to max out at ~42W before hitting the board's output voltage limit. To take advantage of the power potential, a sub-ohm build is required.

Not directed at you freeall, but, since this seems to come up a lot, atomizer resistance has nothing to do with battery current drain (amp draw) in a regulated VW mod. Given the same battery voltage and power setting, a .5ohm build won't pull any more current from the batteries than a 1.0ohm build. There is nothing inherently unsafe about running very low sub-ohm builds on these devices. As long as you are using coil resistances within the boards operating parameters, it's all good. The whole "OMG, sub-ohm DANGERZ!" thing is a carry over from mech mods and simply doesn't apply to regulated VW mods.

A lot of people are stuck in the 'low resistance = high battery amp draw' thing from the high power mech mod era and I think that is not going to go away anytime soon.

Thanks for posting that. It's nice to see that others 'get it'. I feel like a broken record sometimes lately :)

Well said.

I hear this a lot with new high powered regulated devices. The Sigelei 150, being so popular, is usually the device in question. I own one and the output voltage max is at 7.5 volts. I usually do not run all 150, but you are absolutely right. You're going to need a low build to hit 150, and I have 1 atomizer at 0.37 just to see the results of 150, although there probably is some lost wattage.

If a higher resistance is on top of the device, you can increase the wattage to 150. But the voltage number is going to hit 7.5 volts and true power stops way before 150 watts. Hence the whole "regulated" thing. I feel the batteries and chips would need to be different in order to achieve such high voltage for a higher resistance for high wattage in a portable safe to use device.

I said something similar a month ago and was met with a bit of hostility.

I vape on my sig 150 with dual twisted 26g at .25ish ohms 60-70w, which is the point I've hit to reduce feeling the need to chain vape and limitations at work with smoke breaks, and only charge my batteries every other day when they get to around 45%, hitting low power stoppage once I get into the lower 30%s.

I have also heard some of the sigeleis were having issues with battery/power efficiency and the batteries draining faster than 'normal'. They were supposed to start sending out ones with a "fix", no plus model or anything. Maybe I just got a good one?

6 batteries a day? That is insane, I thought I vaped alot. :D

I read that. I just don't post on those. Defending doesn't seem to make anyone change their minds. I like what I do and I'm glad you get a wonderful warm dense vape on 1.5 ohms at 15 watts. I don't, so I found it at .4 at 40 watts... Could be warmer lol. I don't deny they love their vape at 15 watts just please don't tell me mine isn't right. I thought that was what I was going to walk into but it's a little warm and fuzzy and cloudy in here so I figured I'd jump in. I'd love a sig 150 but I found bottomfeeders recently, it's in future plans maybe....

I vape not to smoke. 1.5 is plenty enough for an ADV with a regulated mod. When I smoked, I didn't do it to look like a human chimney. People try to justify sub-ohming with the typical, ' oh I prefer it this way, I love the vapor, the warmer vape, blah blah'. Yeah ok.

Pumping tons of vapor into your body, then go on to say it's 'healthier'than smoking and it satisfies your cravings. Ok, champ.

What exactly makes that unhealthy? And you realize everybody is different. Right? Who are you to judge?

Oberon, you crack me up. You're like that nosey neighbour on the block that has to know what's going on all the time. I can just picture you with binoculars at your window, checkin to see what Jim and Suzy 3 doors down are doing. Do you have a sign on your front door saying, 'no flyers'?
Yet you are the one who had to express your snobbery in a thread about a high watt mod. If you don't understand ot care about high watt vaping, why troll the people discussing it?

40w is what I like too but I'm also using temp control at 500 degrees. I've never been to 150 but I occasionally crank my IPV2S to 70. I'm just trying not to get too used to it just in case juice gets too expensive.

How can you say that? You .... in on every subohm/high wattage thread I've seen.
