Currently vape on a Hana Modz DNA40 v3 and looking to upgrade to something with more power and a more refined temp-control. The local shop has the Sigelei 150w TC as well as the Snow Wolf 200w and the latest IPV5 which I'm having a hard time finding much information about (and would like anyone who has one to provide their opinion good or bad). I know a lot of people like the IPV3 Li and IPV4S from reviews I have read online. I'm more into the look of the Snow Wolf simply because it is a more plain design that looks good but am wary from reviews I'm reading about it. The shop does have the Snow Wolf with the engraving of the wolf head on the side which from what I have gathered is the most recent version with the problems fixed (no firing while sitting untouched, sticky firing button etc.) as well as the ability to lock in the resistance for TC coils, unsure of what version the couple others they have are.The Sigelei seems to be the least complained about of the two. Sigelei from what I know of in the past seemed to be a quality product but from some user reviews they slacked a little on this one but it still is a good solid mod.

As far as toppers, I currently have 2 Subtank Mini and 2 Aspire Atlantis that I'd like to start running the temp control coils in. I've tried the Subtanks on the DNA40 but found it rather lackluster and the coils died pretty quick. Also have a Kennedy RDA clone for chucking clouds and might pick up another RDA for a more flavorful vape.

As for pricing the Snow Wolf is $135, the Sigelei 150w is $130 and IPV5 $80. The price of the IPV5 is insanely tempting as the others seem over priced but I understand B&M's have an operating costs and employee salaries to pay. I know you can get them cheaper online but I prefer purchasing locally for possible ease of return(s).

Does your B&M carry RX200's? If so, buy one.

Alternatively... if you're ready to spend $135, and want very accurate TC; go ahead and order a Lavabox DNA200, (or similar DNA200 mod), for ~$169 instead. Most manufacturers provide a warranty, and any reputable online retailer will exchange a defective product. The local B&M doesn't have to get all your business.

Something to consider, anyway. ;)

seriously those are some insane prices. Most reputable vendors online offer return (some free). I would honestly search online rather than pay 100+ for yesteryear's mods. With those prices you can possibly get a DNA200 mod.

[edit] The Lavabox is a great mod, one of the best looking DNA200 mods (my opinion). I have one myself and its my current go to mod.

If you're willing to pay $100+, check out the new Sigelei 213W box mod (I believe its around 120). A dual 18650 mod that is ALOT smaller than the 2 you mentioned, probably the smallest dual battery mod currently.

That's what i was thinking.I got my Sigelei 150tc from a very good online vendor for under $70,and had it in 2 days,no way i would pay $130 for it.

Actually the asmodus minikin might be smaller (albeit not much) but its a 120W mod and also judging from reviews online, the material seems to be mostly plastic.

I'd go for the ipv5 I own all three mods in question and the pioneer device is hands down a winner

TCR control, NI, TI, Ss

Memory profiles, upgradeable firmware

The upgradeable firmware is an awesome feature too with the IPV5 and I think has sealed the deal. . Might just go ahead and pick that one up instead. Cost isn't a huge problem since I'm getting a bit of a bonus on Friday, but still don't want to get ripped off (which the 2 in question are). They do have a Ruleaux RX200 for $85 but find its looks hideous, no offense to anyone.

Rx for $85 is ridiculous too unless you get 6 batteries with it? You won't regret the ipv5

So just picked up my ipv5 today and so far I'm impressed. Nice weight to it and the feel is actually great when holding it. Surprised it is slimmer than my Hana Modz DNA 40 and that will take a little getting used to. Performance so far with the Herakles is awesome. Only taken it to 45 watts and it just keeps chugging along. No dry hits with a 50/50 juice but I did notice a little slow down running 100 VG juice. Won't be a problem since I mainly run 50/50 but couldn't resist a watermelon vape for the lovely spring weather we're having.

Oh and as far as batteries, the guy at the shop turned me to the LG HG2 3000mAh batteries instead of the Sony VTC5, are these going to be a good fit for when I do really crank the watts up?

Once the batteries are all charged up and the coil (cotton) in my subtank mini needs changing, I'm going to give the TC coils a whirl in that and see how it does on the IPV5. Wasn't too fond of the short life-span I got with them on my DNA40. Read the temp control with that left a lot to be desired.

I love the new-found enjoyment a new mod gives :D

Congrats on your purchase.

When I started vaping on Sept 2015, I vaped a 75W box at around 45W to 55W(using tanks). Then I got my 150W box mod and I changed coils...slowly moving from 55W to 75W to 90W and now at around 120W(using RDA). Just picked up a Twisted Messes Squared RDA and I'll bet I end up upping the wattage again. It's not a contest...it's a matter of properly atomizing the juice so that you end up with vapor and not e-liquid in your mouth.

I have two Sigeleis (75W and 150W TC) and the Sigelei 213 on preorder. They all rock.

As for Sigeleis being expensive, I ordered a reasonably priced custom mechanical box mod, and it was right around $160, and I am proud to own it.

If it is your only box mod you are going to use whatever you buy for 6 to 9 months, 24x7x365, until you replace it. Don't let anyone give you any garbage abt how much you spend on yourself. You're worth every dime.

I'm curious as to how the 510 connection is on the Ipv5, hopefulyl the same as on previous versions. On my Reuleaux some of my RDAs do not sit flush and have some wobble. Even some heat sinks don't sit flush. Plus I am having other issues with it so thinking of one of these for my desktop/at home mod. Sigeleis have disappointed me in the past and so far nothing but good reviews on the IPV 5. If I like it, I may pass my old IPV3 on to my brother

True.

I know price does NOT necessary always equate to quality, however, I find all my DNA200 devices to feel and work as high quality mods. As mentioned if its going to be your only mod, find one that will last you a while.

Also, check out the sigelei 213, have one on preorder as well and the mod looks fantastic for its price (around $90)
