Yes... they are quite good for the low investment. The may need a bit of fine tuning with button travel and thread smoothness, but all and all... nice mods for the buck
The 19e, Caravela clone and the "silver dragon" are all bottom button mods that I've experience with. A nice thing about Sigeleis is the "mix and match" properties of commonized threading... so you can play musical parts with brass and SS, polished and matte, to get the look you want.

You can get extended tubes that will accept both 18650 and Kick... Fat Daddy Vapes for example sells extended tubes.

Check out Vapor Tek, 101 Vapes and Fat Daddy for nice selections at excellent prices.

What do you think of the silver dragon? I like my #8d and #24 because they are side button, but the bottom button with the cut out seems like something I might like. I hate having to twist a lock on the bottom buttons. I *KNOW* - in my brain - that they aren't going to fire just sitting there - but it still drives me crazy...

Picked it up from Vapor Tek. Pretty smooth threads... Sigelei is really turning out some nice product these days.

It took me about a day to get used to it... the cutout part felt a bit strange. I spaced the button with a silicone shim to reduce travel, and after another day, I took it out. Some tactile and visual "thing" about the button being sunk deeper in the "shroud" felt and looked strange. So now, I use it as is with the full travel. What I may do is space the button again, then file down the shroud a bit.. it wouldn't be much, so the shroud and cut outs would still function.

The flange on the eGo cover is kinda handy... gives you something to grip. You have two options with that cover... if you don't want a gap between the mod and the topper. You can file down the 510 collar, like we do on Nzonic tops regularly, so it's flush with the cover - and sink the 510 pin/insulator deeper so everything is flush, or... you can just unscrew the cover a bit to meet the topper. Being and ex-gunsmith who owns two drawers full of Nichols files... I went with the former. ;-)

I also put some thin wall shrink tubing on the button pin to take up a bit of looseness between it and the steel button base. That actually wasn't a big deal... it's just something I do.

As it came out of the box, and it fires with 100% reliability... so really it's just little personal idiosyncrasies that we all apply to our mods that give us the warm fuzzies. All in all, I give it a thumbs up and would recommend it to anyone, n00b or experienced "budget mod" fan. :)

Sorry to be so long winded... stuff just pops into my head and the fingers follow. Oh yeah! The ones from Vapor Tek... no "Dragon" engraved. They are "sterile". :2cool:

Ha ha! Well, I much prefer your answer to: "Sure, it's great. I like it."

Thanks for the good info. And the link to fatdaddy. Have a feeling I'll be ordering a couple things from them. May just make me a Vela clone to replace the one I just...uh...lost. I'll have to see how much I like the dragon bottom button first.

You're honestly better off with a clone of some high-end mod or a k100. I've owned 3 sigelei's (2 of them telescoping, the 19 and 20 and their version of the caravela/clone). I can honestly say that although the 19 is a good looking mod..it get's no use from me. Misfires like no other, very finicky, and just an overall terrible mod out-the-box. Just pick yourself up a Chi You clone, you won't be disappointed.

They already sell the dragon center section seperately... I would not be surprised if someone starts selling the button assembly as well. I like it... I don't know if I like it more than a regular locking button yet... but it definitely has possibilities. Also, all the venting is built into the button... so no matter what you build, you don't need to drill any vent holes.

Yeah, I've heard the 19 is crappy. I was more wondering about the others.

Sigelei silver dragon is very good, hits great, nice weight to it, fits 510 or ego, and don't need to worry about locking the bottom button, since the firing button is inset.- if that is how you call it. the K100 fits with a kick clone but not with the evolv kick-the diameter is smaller so it doesn't make contact with the tube. I use the Sigelei kick in my K100. All my other mods I use either a IMRs -18490 battery or a 18500 battery with a kick. I got my silver dragon from 101 vape and check out supertmanufacturing or rtd vapor for the kick.

Actually, the 19 was kinda crappy out-of-the-box... what with the useless magnets and glue and whatnot. The 19e or "copper" 19 variant (brass actually - not a clue where the copper moniker comes from, unless this is red, nickel or prince brass they might be using) is quite nice and requires only that you toss the spring in the Nzonic top cap, file the 510 collar flush and space your button. None of those three mods are actually mandatory... you can vape it right out of the box, after a good cleaning of course. ;-)

The 8W (caravella clone) is pretty nice but make sure you get the newer ones with the softer bottom button. Vapertekusa has them. You may want to check out the Smoktech Magneto, Magneto really soft bottom button, I think Sigelei makes a clone of it. I am not a big fan of the side buttons either, I only have one of them and most of my devices are bottom fire.

Yeah, I've been eyeballing that Magneto pretty hard all day, after seeing the Grimmgreen review of it this afternoon. I also see they added an adjustable contact and removed the Smok logo from the tube. Now if only they'd have added an extended tube version that could take an 18650 with a kick. Since Smok sells a kick clone, you'd think they would accommodate its sales a little more. lol

Vapor Joe is pimpin' a $38 no-logo magneto deal.

The button throw is too long - IMO, but if you space it, then the button is inset too deeply into the "shroud" and is a bit uncomfortable to use. In other words... it's a bit uncomfortable either way. :)

For a day or so, I left the button as delivered... and decided it was time to give it a "tune-up". I re-spaced the button for 0.85mm of travel, then filed down the shroud flanges until they are above the button by 0.30mm.

Works pretty good. I may take off another 0.15mm from the shroud flanges... or I may even take it down to flush. Well see. For now, it has a nice short throw and the flanges don't feel, ah... obtrusive. ;-)
