Got a new #19 today :)

Strange one as this one come with the Sig logo on the main tube, never had that on the first one I got.

Also noticed that the button was very hard to take to bits, ended up having the take a cutting disc to the bottom magnet and cut a slot on it so I could get a screwdriver on it.

Are you putting anything in place of the magnet, or is it ok without anything :)

My (long-awaited) new #19 in mini-mode. Love this thing, removed top magnet and put in a new brass pin and put an o-ring on the switch. This things an amazing deal! Thanks to everyone who explained how to get the best out of this mod :)

Whats the best size metric bolt/screw to use in the top of the #19 :)

The plastic inserts where the bolt goes into is pretty forgiving, I had bolt that was approx the same diameter but with different thread spacing and it screwed in like champ. All I had to do was cut it to length. Without the magnet on top and the plastic grinded down, my 18350 battery wouldnt make a connection because of the difference in depth now... after some trial and error grinding I got it to the proper size to be able to use in 350 mode. And thats my answer to a question nobody asked lol

Excellent! No gaps in 350 mode right? So...what is the magic number for the length of the bolt?

Finally....time to get busy (actually the 20 spring is already changed and working great....switch mod after 19)

I have big plans for the 19 :D

Me too, I'm happy with the #20 for now, after lowering the 510, can't wait to get my #19 tomorrow, much more to tinker with, can't wait :D

I want to like the #19, I really DO! But I don't. I put an o-ring on the post to shorten the throw and stuffed a longer brass screw in the 510 end to get rid of that magnet. Tried a softer spring in the switch as well but that bottom magnet will hold the circuit shut with a weaker spring! Had to put the stock one back in it. I *could* drill and tap where that bottom magnet is but wish there was an easier way...

What about removing the bottom magnet replacing it with a brass or copper nut? I've got some good quality silver solder for stereo equipment I could probably use to help hold it in place, even if I had to fill all the voids with it...

I'm still getting misfires and once I burnt my finger on the switch! I might try and stuff some wire in there (have some copper) but what a silly way to fix something that should have been properly designed in the first place... OR the second time around! That whole "fixing it" delay was for what?!? So they could etch a Sigelei logo on the tube?!?! :glare:

Last but not least the tubes seem of a thinner metal than my #8, which is so far my favorite of the two... by a long shot.

I burnt my finger on the switch as well! What is up with that? Anyone know what would cause that? Mine came in the mail today right before I had to leave for work so I only had a minute to test it. When it fired correctly, it worked great. Unfortunately I had multiple misfires and either the button heated up or shocked me, I'm not sure which. All I know is that it hurt.

Got my #19 finally. I really like the look and feel of it. I was surprised by the size actually. Nice and compact.

Started working on modding it. I was planning on only removing the top magnet which popped out first try. Then I decided to see what happened when I tried to remove the one in the switch. It started to crumble instantly. So I ended up chipping out the rest and ordered a brass thumb screw from McMaster. I also ordered some round brass shims to see if I can make those work. I think I can capture it between the locking ring and delrin insert to make complete circuit with body of mod through the spring. I have some silver plated copper springs laying around so I'm gonna throw one of those in there too.

Gonna take it to work tomorrow and work on refinishing it. Luckily I work in a shop with all the tools I need to work on it.
