I have a friend that really loves the Groove and it's one of the older plastic ones. I was considering getting one so I'm interested to know what you don't like about them?

I've had mine three months and I haven't had any problems. I really like it.

Well I kinda would like a box mod that can stand up without falling over with the slightest movement. I guess owning a Reo spoiled me.
I've actually started looking at them again but will probably wait for the vv/vw read resistance MVP unless something else comes out before it does. I'd really like a custom shanmod but can't afford.
PBsaurdo had problems with the button sticking a lot. Wonder if anyone else has experienced... txtumbleweed?

No problems with the buttons at all. Fires everytime with no sticking. I used to like mine to standup but now that I use the protank it doesn't need to standup and I just lay it flat when I'm not vaping.

Yeah, I'm using the Protank now as well and that's why I'm giving 'em another look. I might pick one up if I can find for under $60... closer to 50.00.

DV had the plastic ones which I have for 46.00 but is sold out right now. It is a real durable plastic and I've dropped it several times on hard surface without damaging it at all.

My buddy that really likes his Groove just had his crap the bed on him and just over the 90 day mark. Lame. Thanks for your reply (you too txtumbleweed). The jury's still out on this one for me.

I have a MPV that broke when I dropped it. I also have the Groove which I really like and a TMax coming in the mail. Sounds like I will be sticking with my Groove as my primary.:)

I really like the Groove's (+ -)menu system. Put that on an MVP and I'll be happy. The one button set up on the provari/zmax/tmax leaves much to be desired. It's really annoying actually....

The one button menu isn't bad if you use wattage setting. I very seldom ever change my wattage so I just use the menu to check battery voltage or just leave it set to monitor charge.

Funny. That's exactly how I have it set up. I just really enjoy the simplicity and ease of the Groove's menu. I hate having to round robin when I go too far on the TMax. We're so spoiled, I know:p

So I have used the Tmax for a couple of weeks now. At 15 watts or 6v on both Rms or mean, it will not go over 4.06v load voltage or more than 8 watts with a 2ohm load. I think these have such a high internal resistance with all the metal that they are very inefficient. All my tube type Sigelei can reach an honest 14 watts with a charged battery. 6v on the tmax meter and 4.06v under load. This is a power hog.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad 7.5 is the max wattage I vape at.

My TMax got here today and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't think I was going to like it but changed my mind once I saw and tried it. I got a red one and it looks pretty sharp with the silver protank. It is pretty heavy but stands up real well unlike my other box mods. I had planned on putting it in the classies and buying another Groove but I changed my mind and will keep it!:)

They are almost the same size. The Groove is a little thinner. I need some batteries for my camera but I will try tomorrow. The TMax is built and looks better than the Groove I have. I have the plastic not SS so the Groove is much lighter. I see DV has the TMax for 59.00 and so does Smoktek for the weekend using Memorial code.

I've had my red Tmax a little less than a week. After getting used to the weight of it, I really like it. The button rattles, but fires every time for me and the spare battery does not rattle at all. It stands up fine or lays flat without worrying about it rolling off the table like a tube mod can.

I like the one button menu since I'm used to it with my Sigelei Zmax telescopic. I also like the idea of having a spare battery on board for those inopportune times when your battery dies while you're out. I hate having to dig through my purse looking for a spare battery, or worse, forgetting to bring one!

I think it's cool looking, it works well, and I like it. So far, me and Big Red are getting along just fine. :toast:
