I have a Sigelei Zmax V3. It works great, threads are smooth and the fit, finish and function are great too for a $40 mod. No complaints about mine. I have no experience with the Smok version so I can't help you there.

However in my research when I was trying to decide what mod to get, I often saw comments saying go with the Sigelei over the Smok version.

Just a quick look around the APV forum and you'll see far more people having issues with the Smok version than the Sigelei. I have the Sig Zmax mini and have never had any issue with it at all.

The mod is solid, threading is smooth with no burrs. Screen is mounted perfectly square on the mod and the button fires right every time.

If I just had to choose one APV, I would buy the Zmax mini over again.

WOw, very personal choice. The VMax flat top, or PV style?
im not sure mine are exactly the ones you're looking at.
I grabbed a smok magneto one day OVER the Sigelei just because
I was out and about and was caught with Error msgs flashing on My ProVari.
Already amply stocked++ with 18490 & 18500 batt's in my breif case- the choice
was pragmatic. I wanted something that would work with my gear stash on hand at the time- not need to also stock up on new batts. The B&M I was at was telling me- "no prob, use the 18500 in the Zmax" but the loose wobble fit (side to side) was telling me, Uhn Uh. I eventually ended up with a Zmax later on anyhow...but have since given it a new home.
again...only based on not wanting a "collection" not the performance.
Based on performance, feel in my hands, day to day use, etc- its very subjective! My ProVari does get used the most probably 10 to 1 over the other set ups.
Can you go to a B&M and spend some time "sampling" them with demo models?
ALl the BEst. btw- I havent had any issues w/smok yet..and thats why
I chose the simpler (lower end model) Magneto-

I got a SMOK Telescoping Zmax at the VCC yesterday and have had no issues with it yet. Without a battery, it's about the same weight as my SID with the battery. Smooth threading, etc. biggest issue so far for me is the LED screen, instead of OLED. But the screen is almost bright enough to use as a flashlight, so is easier to read in daylight!

I look closely at both. The Sigelie is a much better mod than the smok zmax by far. I don't think the smoke has stainless 510 threads, they are plated brass. The only benefit of the smoke is that you can flush mount, but the flush mount still won't keep the threads from stripping at some point. The sigelie 510 is nearly indestructible so you don't even have to worry that it's not flush mounted.
