Hi Tootster and welcome to the forum.

I have both devices, but in slightly different versions.

For me, if the Zmax is a Sigelei (as you indicated in your post) then I would probably go with that over the Vamo. The simply reason is the Zmax is slightly better in overall quality.

The Vamo is a good device and the features and functions of the two are very similar, as are the forms of them and their ability to provide a good vaping experience. The Sigelei edges it in terms of quality of threading, thickness of the tubes, finish, and better quality connections.

Only thing to consider is the Zmax has a one button interface for changing settings and the Vamo is a 3 button setup, making it slightly easier to navigate the menu. Once you get used to either device, this really isn't that much of an issue.

Just wanted to add, where are you going to purchase them from and how much are you expecting to pay? You might also want to consider that there are other devices out there now that probably offer more features for similar money.

If you choose the V5 get an original KSD 2014 updated one with the spring pin and newer firmware. Night and day difference in quality all around. Oh, and might consider a V7 or the V8. I keep thinking "could have had a V8" :) more power, grunt grunt.

For me the three button interface is the only way to go. One button is silly.

Thanks for the response. I WAS going to purchase a ZMAX from movapes for $25 but I talked to the manager this morning and they're out of stock. I've been looking at the Vamo at sweetvapes ($39) and americanvaper ($25) as well as 3avape ($25). My biggest concern is authenticity which is why I'm leery of e-bay. Any other suggestions would be welcomed. . .

Well, I have the Sigelei Zmax V3 and the Vamo V6. Even though it's only the V3, I think I have to lean toward that one compared to the Vamo. The V3 just feels very well built. The threads are all super smooth. The V6 is a wee-bit touchy when I replace the battery - sometimes hard to catch the threads when re-attaching the bottom.

I like that the Zmax can be set for Mean or RMS (I prefer RMS - seems smoother) I don't have that option with the V6. V6 can go to 20W, but right now, I don't push anywhere near that high. Can't sub-ohm on either (I think 1.0-1.2 ohms as low as one can go)

So, no, I don't have either, but based on what I have, I probably would root for the Sigelei Zmax :)
