Hey guys I got a sigeli 100W to add to my vape collection. I have to mechanical mods and always wanted to try a box mod. I am having a problem though. On all my rda's when I push it past around 60W the coil gets red immediately and I get such a burnt disgusting taste. Ive been to vape shops and the guy was hitting 85W+ no problem without any burnt taste at all. My coil gets red hot immediately as if there is a hot spot? I run between .3-.6 ohms and no matter what no luck? I spent a lot of money on this and I am very frustrated?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You may need to adjust the coil style and wicking style you are using as .3ohm at 60watts is around 4.2 volts. Which would be the same as using a freshly charged 18650 in a mech with the same set up. Since the coil is red immediately there is evidence that the juice isn't making it there fast enough which will result in that burnt taste. I personally always found that cloud chasing builds kill flavor and to me taste burnt easily.

you may also have to up your resistance or turn down the wattage, till you find the right coil build and wicking to handle that much voltage flowing.

if your coils look good then you are either not wicking properly or not wetting enough. at that wattage you gotta soak em.
pics of your build may help diagnose your issue.

^^This right here. I have a Sigelei 100w too. Right now I have a .2 ohm dual parallel single coil setup and I've been vaping it around 75 watts for the last 2 days. Just gotta make sure you use enough cotton but not too much. And make sure it's completely saturated. I don't really know what else could cause that except really thin juice maybe.

Box mods/variable wattage/voltage devices take different builds. Because the wattage is in your control, and not dictated by the nominal voltage of your battery, you need to build your coils different (or adjust your wattage to compensate).

I suggest trying a .6-1 ohm dual coil with a ton of surface area (try and do something like 9-14 wraps with 26gauge) and seeing how that works for you. Tiny micro coils work great for mech mods, but will heat up FAR too fast on a box mod.

find the Sigelei 100 works best on builds of 0.5-0.8 ohms. If one is getting dry/burnt hits, well that's a wicking and air flow problem. One is driving their build harder than the juice can be wicked to replace, and/or does not have enough air flow.

As long as your coils are heating evenly from the center out, coils should be good, dial it down to where it vapes right, play with your wick densities and air. Also, new build often take some time to season in before one can crank them up. Once everything is seasoned and broke in, then can turn up the juice on the juice, or something like that.
