Reilly not convinced that electronic cigarettes are safe, orders review

The sub headline sums up the level of information the minister is working with; The Health Minister says that he does not like the idea that the smokeless cigarettes are being promoted and sold on planes.
It could be just me but I don't believe this, if Ryanair who would sell their granny for a buck aren'tselling them then no one is.

And all this after this; Taoiseach, ministers criticised for “inappropriate” tobacco industry meeting

They are being sold on Ryanair flights. I was heartened by this last time I flew with them, about a month ago. Sure, they'd sell us passengers for dogmeat if they could, but at least they're not succumbing to the general, evidence-free wave of "ooohhhh, e-cigarettes, they must be dangerous, no? Why? Oh, I heard people saying it....". The Health Minister's statement is another instance of this: what ECITA rightly called "policy by press release".

I wish I could read a mainstream press story where someone is being sensible about e-cigarettes. For once.

I don't think what Ryanair sell are ecigs, I bought a pack of their Similar cigarettes and they are definitely not ecigs, some kind of poormans inhaler tbh. This was last year and they could have changed, cant see the similar things having a repeat customer esp as anyone traveling could bring an ecig with them.

Hi Tommy2bad

Looks like you're right. I never actually bought one of those Ryanair things - because, as you said, I can have my own favourite PV with me!

My misunderstanding there brings to mind just how misinformed many people are about vaping. I'm writing a lot to MEPs at the moment (for obvious reasons). It's incredible how many people think that e-cigarettes are just those disposable things; so they talk about "cartridges" for example. (What's a cartridge? I prefer a tank, thank you very much! :vapor:)
