There is a 475 page thread all about wicks and the safety of vaping using silica wicks. Everyone has their own preference for wicking materials. I personally use silica, no issues with it, but I only vape using silica wicks about 5% of the time now.
Cotton didn't work that well for me, but it was almost definitely user error on my part.
Yup. Works great, tastes soooo much better than silica and I have yet to have one flood or leak. Like I said, boil it (and replace the water each time) until the brown is gone. Happy vaping.
Edit: I didn't boil all of it at once. I just pulled off 50 feet.
The only downside for using silica wicks is after awhile they begin to disintegrate. My are fine up until 10? weeks. Unfortunately there have been no in depth studies done.
