Dripping is only for use on manual batteries, preferably a fully sealed manual battery. If you drip too much in an atomizer it could drop the juice on the end of your battery and that's a good way to kill an automatic battery or even a manual battery that has an open hole in the middle of the threaded end. Battery + atomizer + drip tip (drip tip is a mouthpiece with a wide hole that you can drip juice through to the atomizer. Dripping is good for trying new juices to see if you like them, vaping juices that you don't vape often, or ones that are too thick for cartomizers. Dripping is best done at home since you need to add drops relatively frequently so it's not safe while driving and not particularly convenient compared to cartomizers. I use cartomizers for my everyday vapes and use and atty + drip tip for the things I listed above.

I tried to do a search but the returns were in the 100's :)

I know about buying pre-filled Cartos, vs refilling Cartos, but what is this "Drip" method I hear a lot of Vets talk about?

Thanks in advance

WELCOME TO THE ECF

If you talking about the drip method that is associated with cartomizers. Then it's when you drip the juice around the sides of the carto until it is filled. Either in 5 drop intervals or more. Depending on the size of the drops. I could explain the step by step process if you want. Not sure if that's what your asking for though. So, I'm going to end it at that.

many great cartos available now that equal or surpass the flavor and vapor of dripping, cartos are a million times easier, and you dont get the nasty burnt taste dry hits like you just cant avoid with dripping. With practice and paying attention (not to over drip and to know when you are running dry) dripping works, but like others said, I only use it when testing out new flavors until I decide if I want to commit a cartomizer to a liquid...the rest of the time its horizontal cartos for me.

I also agree 306's are great if you give it a go, but read up first...there is a decent bit to learn such as clearing primer from an atty, breaking it in, amounts, etc.

Good luck, and enjoy!

I always used the condom method to fill cartos. If you do a youtube search of google you will get a video to show you how it is done.
I recently watched that and plan to try it , It looks easier than dripping but I have yet to try either as I am still researching everything as well. No silly question ( within reason ) when your trying to learn ;).

I'm a dripper. I like the hit of it. I drip 3 drops directly on the coil in the atomizer and insert a drip tip. For driving I also carry a carto PV for when the drip runs dry, since, yeah, dripping and driving is not a good idea.
I bought a $2 drip tip and it will last a very long time and it is washable. I don't mind dripping, and for me it is less mess and fuss whereas the cartos are annoying and don't hit as well. YMMV.
If you have the separate atomizer / cartridge, you can buy a drip tip and try it out, not a big investment.

I drip the vast majority of the time. I can second the praises for the 306 atty. I can also tell you that an 801 is also a hidden gem, especially at 5v. Done properly (and it will take some getting used to) it hits like a truck at much lower nic levels than would otherwise be necessary. You have to make sure you are at the proper watts for your taste, the atty needs to be cared for, you have to know when and how much to drip. Once you get it right though, there is no carto that comes close. For me, it is worth the trouble. For others, it is very logical that it will not be. Dripping is not for everyone.

I am liking some of the dual coils cartos. The low resistance coupled with the fact that a larger area is being heated (more liquid) does enable some of them to hit really well. I use them while driving.

I like to drip when I try new flavors to really get the essence and taste of a new juice before I fill up a carto and dedicate that carto to that flavor.

I also drip when I'm in a wild mood and don't just want to toot one flavor for awhile.

I'll do three drops, vape till no more gurgle and repeat or switch flavors.

I will also use it as a test to try two different flavors together for the heck of it and see what I can come up flavor wise.

A drop of each flavor, vape it and see if I created a monster? :D

WOW...thanks for all the replies! THis is an awesome forum....

I was talking about direct drip without a carto... looking for a way to save the money on cartos when vaping at home. Any recommendations for a good dripper :) setup? Basically when Im at home I just want to get GREAT taste and GREAT vapor production.

I have my halo G6's now for in the car and away from home....my GOD the Tiki juice...the taste alone makes me want to quit analogs ..heh heh.

I have been seriously looking at the Provape PV1 VV .... that looks like a toy that will keep me vaping for years to come.

Thanks again all...

I'm not sure that a G6 is the best set-up for dripping...is that an automatic battery? As dormouse mentioned, dripping is only recommended for 'sealed' manual batteries. Also, my best dripping is experienced using a low-resistance atomizer (provides a much warmer and flavourful vape) which is better suited to higher mah rated batteries (low resistance depletes the battery charge quicker).

@catctusgirl... I wasnt intending on dripping with my G6. that will be Carto only usage for when Im out and about. Im kinda looking for something that I can sit on my end table or office desk at home to drip with. I bought both the Auto and Manual G6 just to try them both.

@tj ...thanks for the link!

Again all...thanks for being so helpful!
