I just purchased a Joye 510 starter kit and along with it a PCC. Now, I know it's probably me being technologically handicapped but I have a question on how to operate the darn thing.

I plugged it in to the computer for a few hours to charge it up, no problem bottom light turns green, great it's charged up ready to go, right? Nope, not with me being the operator. I put a battery in there that I know needs charging, no lights. So, I plug the charger in again, get a green light on the bottom. So, I put the battery in while the PCC is plugged into the computer, now I get a red light on top and a red one on the bottom. What the heck am I doing wrong??

Well if you got a red light top and bottom both are charging now. You should have gotten a red top light after the charger itself went green but in some cases, you need to place something - try just a piece of paper towel folded right now to test it - to 'push' the battery down so a connection is made. Some PCC's have a sticky back felt circle on the inside of the top where the battery (led end) would hit. That pushes the batt down enough to get the connection. Try that and report back ;-)

Thank you both for your answers. I tried sticking something in there still no lights when it's not plugged into the computer.

What I'm not getting is when I plug it in with no battery in it the light is as green as it can be, when it's pugged in and I put a battery in it, top and bottom turn red. I guess my question is, if it's charged up (green light when plugged into the computer) shouldn't the top light come on when I unplug it and put in a battery that needs charged?

First when you're charging the PCC you might just leave the battery out. When the unit is fully charged the bottom light will be green. Disconnect it and the light goes out. Put a battery in the slot and the top light should come on If the battery needs charged. If not no light will come on. If the battery needs charged and the top light doesn't come on - push the battery down gently and see if the light comes on - if it does, then you need something on the top part of the battery (bottom of the lid over the battery to help keep the battery down). If the top light doesn't come on when you have a battery that needs a charge in the charger than you likely have a defective unit OR the light is out and the battery is still charging but you simply can't tell if that's the case.
