I got my parts from mad vapes today and Im going to get started tommorow. The question is this; is there a best practice to connecting the positive lead to the 808 connector or some instruction on this I dont want to mess it up.

Do I feed the wire into the whole from the bottom and then solder it in plance on do I leave the whole open and solder it to the side of the inside connector..

THanks Yall Im do damn excited to get started its pityful. :D

I can find the solder so I have to wait till tommorow

Thanks Yall..

If you don't plan on makin your mod an automatic then what I do is first solder the hole n then stick the wire into the hole making sure the hole is completely sealed so no juice can enter into the mod
You know, I never thought about this untill recently but if you do this, please use lead-free solder. A lot of us (me included) have done this, and I'm sure we have been ingesting a very small amount of leached lead. Will it build up enough to do any real damage? I'm not sure, but why take a chance.

808-D/901 Battery Connector

I use the this one because I use V4L 808d-1 cartos. On d-1 cartos you need the hole in the middle to get the correct air flow. If you fill up the hole with solder it will draw very hard. You can test this before you solder by putting a tooth pick in the hole and connecting a carto. It is a BIG difference with and without the tooth pick.

The way I keep the hole from filling up is this...

I take one of the silicon "nails" that come with cartos and put it in the hole from the carto side then trim it so it just fills up the center hole. That way you can solder the center wire and not get any solder in the hole.

Thats a great idea! I dont use a 808 so i dont care/didnt know about the center hole thing affecting airflow.

I finished my first two mods this weekend and will put the pictures up tommorow ended up soldering them in the hole and it worked like a charm. TONS OF VAPOR!!!!!

I made one with a LED and one with out..

I was told this can be addictive and I believe that to be true I have been looking around the house for other stuff to turn into Vapor machines.. haha.. I do have a really nice piece of 100 Plus year old heart pine that I think I can make an awesome one out of but we shall see I need to order more parts...

This is way fun.... My soldering was a little rusty but it can back around pretty quick..

Pics to follow tomorrow..

Thanks again

Glad you got it working. What cartos are you using? My V4L will not work with the hole filled up. I might have to get some of what you use.
