It seems that while the SB works perfectly for 99% of people, there is a decent amount of posts here & around the 'net about button woes, exhibiting the symptoms exactly as you describe i.e. - misfires. I'd contact AltSmoke immediately. There's always the one or two bad apples that pass QC but aren't quite perfect.

And don't feel bad, heck, I helped a fellow ECF'er all last week trying to nail down why his Prodigy wouldn't work, & the Prodigy is a mechanical mod, which in and of itself is supposed to be a bulletproof category of mods. (Ended up being an adapter threading issue and defective center pin.) So as they say bud, sometimes stuff happens.

Good luck. I hope you're able to get back to vaping normally asap.

Some of the SB buttons need to be broken in a little. Take the mod in one hand and with the other hand, use a strong finger to rapidly tap the button hard. Do this about 30 times. Mine had this issue after a week or so, I did this as advised by Chad the maker, and it was fine for months until I sold it.

This.
On my SB, The button took about a week to loosen up. Push harder.
