So I got a fancy Silver Bullet from Altsmoke, $99 shipped. I got an assortment of batteries from Dealextreme and have been happilly vaping with it for 2 weeks straight. In short: get one! It's extremely well made and never fails. I'm guessing these are made on a lathe from aluminum rod stock-I liked that better than some of the mods made out of pipe and stuff.

I'm using 510 atty's and mostly use the big 3.7 volt battery. I also got a pair of Soshine CR-123's for 6v. when I need a mega-vape. Note that these seem to charge to 3.7 v. EACH for a +7v. hit. I take short little hits until the batteries wear down a bit ;)

The SB looked to be better made than some of the other mods for about the same price. And it looked cooler! I will say it's kinda big to carry around town-I use my Protege for that, which is sadly broken due to a lame switch.

The only negative part I found is that I bought a 510 to 901 adapter for $12.95 from Altsmoke and later bought the same adapter from Heaven Gifts for $1.99. So I felt a bit price gouged on that one. I believe Alsmoke is cheaper on them now, but that didn't help me much. So if you get an SB, just get your adapters from Heaven Gifts and you'll be good to go.

Oops, almost forgot to mention the vaping part. With a good atomizer and juice, there's PLENTY of vapor. I don't think I exhale huge clouds that obscure the sun like some of these guys in the vids, but I get enough so that I don't think about trying another mod or smoking analogs.

Hmmm, my review isn't getting much play! Old news maybe. Guess i should have put up a vid of me exhaling massive vapor, lol.

One other point of note: I was using a Nicostick and clogging 901 atty's left and right, sometimes in a day! Still not sure why. I'm going on 2 weeks with the same 501 atty, it's still going strong. I just blow it out every few days and clean the atty connection with rubbing alchohol every few days.

I love mine too! Lots of vapor. I thought it felt too big at first, but I've gotten used to it. Now I wouldn't give it up. :)

BTW: I read on the forum you shouldn't use rubbing alcohol to clean atty's as it can cling to your atty, regardless of rinse, and it is very bad to vape. You can try searching it on the forum. (Although I don't seem to have much luck in finding things with the search option myself.)

Debbie

Added: Sorry, misread your post. I thought you meant you cleaned your ATTY with alcohol, not the connection. My bad!

Debbie, just rubbing achohol on the atty connections-seems to work well. I did clean a batch of 901 atty's with rubbing alchohol with mixed results. The SB is a tad big to walk around town with, I use my protege when going out.

Doots: I was checking out the BB today as well. Couldn't quite get a handle on the size compared to the SB. I think I like the idea of a home PV (SB) and a small travel PV (protege or?) Too bad GG's don't seem to be too available in the US, looks like me :)

Yes, the SB is truly awesome! had mine about 2 weeks now (my first Mod), and absolutely love it! After a PV with a button like this, I don't think I could get one with the thing sticking out, or one that has most people buying replacement switches for $20! The fit and finish are first rate, and it seems indestructable. Do agree that I too am thinking of a BB just for the portability. I also hear there may be PT attachment in the future, and that would fullfil all my dreams for a PV!

OK, all that said, I am still on the list for a Juicebox, have to see how that works!

You should not be cleaning your threads with alcohol on the SB. It will void your warranty and weaken the silica

I'm just wiping off the atomizer connection, not the main threads on the body. The body seems pretty well lubed, I haven't had to mess with it.

Hey guiltyspark, Gee can I call you Sparky?

I was thinking about buying a Protege, what problem are you having with the switch??

Lol, sure. FYI, the screen name is a reference to the video game "Halo" The Protege is smaller than you think and nice looking. I'm getting weak vapor and it seems that some of them have a switch problem. Puresmoker is taking care of it under warranty. But to answer your question: the switch seems ok, I'm not getting any freakin' vapor, that's the probem.

Ethan(Sparky),
I assume you know about the new switch for 20 bucks at PS. I'm really thinking about getting a couple for the wife and I, but want to see what the unit looks like with the black plastic switch and switch holder no pictures anywhere. A real nice device with a black plastic switch I don't know! The SB looks sweet but a little to big to carry around.

Hey everyone
So i am thinking of upgrading to a new PV and i have been stuck in the 901 days a while ago. I am thinking the BB with an adaptor for the 901 and KR808.
1) As for the batteries, should i use the ones from altsmoke for the 3.7v or get other ones?
2) And which batteries should i get for the 6v?
3) Will the atty's for the 901 and cartos work well with either 3.7 or 6V?

Sorry for all the questions but i am still playing catch up from being out of the game a while.

Thanks

I lost my Silver Bullet. It seemed to be getting weaker the last few days. I thought it was the batteries, so I kept putting in newly charged ones. But it still got weaker. Then it stopped working entirely. I tried my 3v batteries, 3.7, 3 new atty's, etc. Dead as a doornail.

I've contacted the supplier. We'll see what happens. I'm back to my 510. :(
