I think the new recommendation is to use Noalox instead.

I have both and mix them, big surprise.

The problem with the Noalox is the fact that it settles and you can wind up with a lot of oil and not a lot of metal particles. So, you could actually create a barrier to the current while stopping corrosion. The tube of silver lasts a long time, anyway, and you don't need to use much. If you have both try 1/4 silver and 3/4 Noalox or 1/3 to 2/3. Shake the Noalox bottle a lot first, like old ketchup.
