What's the deal with the silver crimp beads I've seen around on the forum? Where can I get a box of em? I see tremendous potential for short-free dual and even triple coil atomizers if they work like I think the do.
more trouble than they are worth and if you use a dead soft silver wire they end up pinching to tight and breaking the wire itself... its just easier to twist and go IMO...
but if you must try them for yourself I recommend Sterling Silver 1mm x 1mm size and 1.5mm x 1.5mm for triple coils... you will also need a micro crimp tool... all of these items can be found on eBay at reasonable prices...
I'll check em out and post pics of my results. I'm fortunate to have my 18 year old 20/15 vision and a knack for tactile projects, so hopefully I'll finally get the chance to wrap the 3ohm triple coil atty of my dreams.
RW, MrKrink is right, they appear good but after trying a dozen coils, I gave my beads and pliers away and went back to twisting. If you think about it, if they were that good, COV or other online stores would sell them to Ecigg customers but they don't. There's a reason for that.
I used crimps, they worked great you just have to get used to applying the right pressure to keep from breaking the soft silver wire. My coils typically last a month or so with ceramic wick and dry burning every week to clear up the taste on iAtty 1.
++++++10 on what Oddy and Lorderos says. The silver wire breaks easy unless you get it perfect. If one has young eyes or excellent eyesight along with Patience then that is a great way to go. Most people give up without learning how to crimp properly. I hear there is a type of solder now you just apply without heat
I don't get how or why anyone would give up on Ody, it makes no sense. I don't want to use crimp beads because I'm looking for something convenient, I'm shooting for a super niche use: triple coil atties at 7.4v.
