This method combined with a teabag that has a hole in the middle has worked great for me. Heres a pic of the hole

I like the hole with the standard cart polyfill but with the teabag it's as if I'm sucking air. Tried stuffing more densely and the draw seemed to always be either too easy or too difficult. Teabag without the hole seemed to work better, though I still prefer polyfill with the hole.

Putting a small hole in my cart has been a life saver. My carts are now lasting much longer and I find they are quite dry when I pull them out to refill. Thanks so much for this tip. Now I will try some Fluval and see if it can get even better.
I tried the Fluval in the carts I already made holes in and I did not enjoy the experience. In comparison to the regular cart material, Fluval seems more absorbent and the fibers themselves are much thicker, so I tend to use less of it. As a result, when I have a full cart, I get a lot of leakage from the hole and it becomes somewhat of a disgusting mess in my hands and pocket.

I found Fluval without the hole to work best, second to original cart material with the hole.

P.S. This is all with a 901.

Thanks Chaotic, I haven't had a chance to get the Fluval yet. I did find the hole, when placed in the wrong location or a little too high, leaked like crazy.

Dolan.... I found the hole displayed like post #10 worked best for me. Have to be real careful not to place it too far up or you will end up drinking juice. I tried placing on the front of the cart and that didn't work well either. I haven't tried placing one on the inside of the cart, be curious how well that works, I would be afraid of sucking juice.

I didn't read all the posts in this thread so I might be repeating what was already said.

I have found an easier way with EVO/M401 carts. Push the cart up with a paper clip and top off as you would normally. When replacing the filler cart, push it back in with the atomizer and then use the plug for the cart and push in just a little bit further (don't push the filler cart all the way in to rest with the mouth piece end). Pushing in the filler cart with the atty puts an indentation into the poly and pushing it in just a bit further is perfect. Tons of vaper, an easier draw and the cart seems to last longer.

Sorry if this had already been discussed.

I believe using a straw is a much better way to achieve better juice flow out of the cart. Better because although it uses the same mechanism - allowing air to flow in or out of the cart bottom - does so without the possibility of leakage as with the hole.

The post hilights ease of refilling but it is the ability to get more juice from the cart so that it lasts longer and does not need to be refilled/topped up so often is the main advantage.

Pipeman - I'm fairly confident that the 510 carts and the new 901 carts which are black, oval in shape with a round hole and squarish end similar to the 510 carts are already doing this. I was drilling a hole in my 510 and a couple of pieces came out. It appears that they are already doing this. If you pop off the end cap on the mouthpiece there's a hole in the second plastic cap.

In case someone with a 510 sees this...if you pop the end cap (mouthpiece end) off a 510 cart (checked several, from diff vendors), it does indeed look like a hole is there on the 'inner cart.' However, shine a light through it - there's a nub over it on the inside, the hole does *not* go all the way through. Actually, the hole you see is actually a duplicate of the endcap 'disk' for the mouthpiece..not sure why, guess it's a final attempt to not get any moisture back into your mouth...so, basically, two round disks with holes can be removed from the mouthpiece end of a 510 cart, but there is no hole piercing the inner cart compartment from factory.

I have tried the straw method with different straws and it didn't do a thing for me. So for most people try the straw method first and if it works for you then that is great....if it doesn't try the hole method.

Well, I drilled a hole (smallest bit that I have with a pin vise - probably thinner than a regular safety pin) on my 2 piece 901 cart, on the bottom of the brown piece. 1st attempt was an utter failure, because I drilled the hole little too big. 2nd one was a little better - but the juice was still leaking out when I was refilling. I also tried to block the leakage by putting small Tbag filler on the bottom of the cup, but didn't do much either. Perhaps, 100% pg based liquid is too thin... maybe VG might be better for these hole mods, as they are thicker and less likely to run down.

Since I carry around the carts in my pocket shirts, I don't really want anything to leak out... so I had to toss them. It did hold more liquid w/o waiting time... but more important issue for me is the bounciness of the filler itself. Tea bags didn't work for me as it just gunked down... so I'm willing to find some pillow fillers for it, or fluval or what not.

It just seems like the cartridge filler life is just very short. If I get a day or two out of it, it seems like the filler loses its potential. Perhaps I'm burning little too much with my SD, but for me that's the definite case.

I don't mind topping off often, but only when I can get out some good hits out of it, maybe 10-20 times, not 4-5 times. :( 4 drops of juice really should do it, but for some great reason, it doesn't. :(
