I've been searching here and all over. All the formulas I find are way more complex than I need for this. And I'm probably over-thinking the whole thing.

The formulas I find assume you know how much volume of liquid you want, I don't care how much volume I end up with, only strength.

So, I have 20ml of 24mg/ml juice and I want to dilute it to 18mg/ml.

A simple formula would be handy.

Mathematically this relationship can be shown in the equation:

C1*V1=C2*V2

Where:
C1 = Concentration/molarity 1
V1 = Volume 1
C2 = Concentration/molarity 2
V2 = Volume 2

Therefore:

24*20=18x
---------------
480=18x
--------------
480/18=x
--------------
26.66=x

So, that doesn't work.

Oh, crap. I think I get it. I have 20ml if I dilute to 18 I will end up with 26ml so I would add approximately 6ml to end up at 26ml.

I think....
