I was way over thinking this whole DIY thing when I started.

Recipes, Calculators, Graduated Cylinders, Syringes ....... Hogwash.

My first revaluation was that I like the flavor of plain nic juice ... I keep a REO loaded with it and its almost always the one I grab for the first morning (before my tea) vape.

So this has been my system the last couple months.

1) make a big 100ml batch of 18mg plain (no flavor) 30/70 juice in the green AVe 100 ml bottle with squirt top.
2) almost fill REO 6ml bottle with above plain juice
3) grab flavor or multiple flavors and add 10-15 drops per 6ml bottle .... have fun with it.
4) shake well.
5) vape until gone!

Thats it and its been making me very happy and saving a ton of cash.

No more note book with recipes or tasting notes
No more stupid labels with scotch tape over them
No syringes or measuring devices at all except when I need another 100ml of plain

Nothing! I'm super happy that it can be this easy and I've enjoyed every flavor except one.

I realized by smelling the flavoring and putting a drop on my finger and touching my tongue I can tell right away if I like or not and how strong it is.

If you've been scared off of DIY don't be afraid to try it.

Agree!

I use the breaktru calculator because I've stumbled across some multiple flavoring recipes that I enjoy and I can save them easily enough on my PC. The calculator is a nifty tool for mixing varying amounts and nicotine strengths.

Here's one I enjoy that is very easy to mix:

5% Desert Ship flavoring
1 drop of sweetener per every 2mLs of total volume
1 drop of white vinegar per every 2mLs of total volume (tip courtesy of Gojack)

I mix it at 70% PG / 30% VG, but the beauty of DIY is that you can mix it to whatever blend you like.

out of interest, where do you get your flavours from? i've been thinking about trying DIY and also doing something minimalistic like this. been contemplating getting flavours from FSUSA (which is flavourart) and then deciding which i like, and then getting direct from flavourart.

I just tried the flavor concentrates from Wizzard Labs and found them to be good. THe nice thing too is for $1.69 per flavor you can try a lot of flavors on the cheap. 5% is a good ball park guesstimate for adding these flavors. Its nice too that the concentrates come in glass bottles.

Not a bad plan.

Here's a nifty reference if you ever decide to branch out and try a variety flavorings from multiple flavoring suppliers.

I just grabbed a boat load from my freedom smokes. They have flavour art (FA) the flavor apprentice (TFA) and lorann

I have no interest in Lorann so I grabbed everything that looked good from FA and TFA it came to 70 bucks but I must have 30 flavors there about.

For either of those I've been adding about 2 drops per ml and that makes a pretty good mix for my tastes.
I have a feeling it would be weak for a lot of folks but I like the smokey flavor of plain nic so i'm just looking to enhance not mask the nic flavor.

Simple is good,

Our first run at the DYI thing is going well. We kept it simple nic base and one flavor (+ or -) what ever works for us.

Going to have to try a 6ml bottle of Nic base to check it out :) Can not get much simpler then that LOL

Ya it was the first thing I tried when my stuff came in. I was shocked that it tasted pretty good.
I would rather have some flavor most of the time but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if I had to vape straight nic for a few days running. But for some reason when i first wake up I can't decided on a flavor so I usually grab the plain nic for the first hour of the day.

Give it whirl ..... You all ready know the flavor you just don't know it yet :D

Reminds me of my first shot of tequila after drinking margaritas all sumer when I was 18 :)
I was like hey .... that tequila stuff tastes like margarita !!

I use the super concentrated flavors from Vaping Zone, you just use them at 2.5%, so I make the calculation on the fly and add flavor accordingly. I currently vape 9-12 mg. I usually make 50 ml bottles and make more when I finish them. These days I am vaping 3 flavors: Desert Ship, Apple/Desert Ship and Black & Mild.

I really recommend those super concentrated flavors, they are really cheap.

I also have gotten the super concentrated flavors from Vaping Zone- even the littlest bottle at a time is well worth it. So far I really like the Flue Cured. I also like the French Pipe (but a bit strong and sweet). I have not tried the Black and Mild yet- didn't like their Real Cig (so I have most of that bottle left). It's easy to mix...1 drop per ml is a good mix!! So I too have learned to mix up my 1.8% VG solution and then just add drops in the Reo bottle and shake!!

I do almost the exact same thing, Tim. Mix my nic juice then just flavor it as I go according to the mood I'm in. I love the Vaping Zone concentrates, too. Also Ecigexpress has some good concentrates. I only vape two or three flavors regularly, so I have it down to a science. Juice is almost a non-issue for me.

I do similar. I make a large batch of base and then make small bottles I add flavors to. I know I like my base and minor adjustments to it aren't a large effect. Then I have flavors ready quickly.

Unflavored has been pretty good some days also.

+1 on that. :)

VZ flavors 100%, thats all I have vaped for a long time. I joke that my DIY mixing is the culinary equivalent of making cereal :D. I just use the 100 ml bottles from ave, I add 100 ml of my nic base, and count out 55 drops of flavoring. I don't know if it's EXACTLY 2.5% but its close enough for me, I love my juice :)
