depends on how many mls 50/50 mix you are adding the 1ml PG to for starters...

Actually, you don’t need to know the amount of the original mixture. Only the Ratio of PG to VG in the original mixture.

---

Consider any mixed amount that is in a 50% PG to 50% VG ratio. Let “X” be this amount in milliliters.

So when adding 1ml to the original mixture “X”, the new Ratio of PG becomes...

100( ( (X)(.5) + 1)/( X + 1) ) = Percent of PG in New Mixture.

The percent of VG in the New Mixture is given by...

100 – (100( ( (X)(.5) + 1)/( X + 1) )) = Percent of VG in New Mixture.

So what “X” would you like to use?

Lets say 1ml of PG and 1ml of VG.

So "X" would be 2 ml.

If I plugged everything in right it sounds like you New 3ml mixture would be 66.67% PG to 33.33% VG

BTW - Someone should check my math because I drank a Boat Load of New Castle Brown and Baley's last night.

Lets say 1ml of PG and 1ml of VG.

One last thing to mention when working with Ratios or Percentages. (There Both the Same Thing! Just Scalar Multiples of each other to conform to a different unit system.)

A Ratio is just the amount of something divided the the Total Amount.

So for the PG Ratio, it's the amount of PG divided by the Total amount of liquid.

And a Percentage is nothing more than a Ratio multiplied by 100 and the addition of the percent sign, %.

One last thing to consider. The PG formula I posted above ONLY works for an Original Mixture that is in a 50% PG to 50% VG Ratio.

The Formula for Any PG Percentage would be as follows

Consider any mixed amount that is in a Some % PG to Some % VG ratio. Let “X” be this mixture amount in milliliters.

So when adding 1ml to the original mixture “X”, the new Ratio of PG becomes...

100( ( (X)( (Original PG %/100) ) + 1)/( X + 1) ) = Percent of PG in New Mixture.

The percent of VG in the New Mixture is given by...

100 – (100( ( (X)( (Original PG %/100) ) + 1)/( X + 1) )) = Percent of VG in New Mixture.

I suck at math. But believe it or not I think I understand what you explained. Thanks Zoidman !!

You don't suck at math. You just haven't had a teacher explain it in a way that you understand yet.

The Key to this Ratio thing is amount of something divided by the total amount.

Say you have a Pepperoni and Canadian Bacon Pizza. If there is 23 pieces of Pepperoni on the Pizza and 59 pieces of Pepperoni and Candian Bacon total. What is the percentage of Pepperoni?

( 23 Pieces of Pepperoni / 59 Total Pieces )( 100 ) = 39.98% Pepperoni
