So I've had a kangertech dripbox for quite some time and I've been wanting to change the rda on it but I went to my local vape shop and said i couldn't due to my mod being a bottom feeder. I asked why and he said because the deck didn't the needed holes for the juices to flow up into the cotton. I should be fine to install a goon rda or something of the sort as long as I don't use the squonk tank right?

Hi Edgar. Welcome to the ECF.

Sure. You can use just about Any Non Bottom Feeding Atomizers on your DripBox. You just won't be about to Squonk with them.

If you want New RDA that you Can Squonk with, there are Quite a Few Bottom Feeding (BF) RDA available. And Many can be Converted by replacing the RDA's Center Pin with a BF Pin.

There is a Lot of Good Information in this Fasttech Thread about BF RDA's and Squonking.

Sounds like this shop don't know squonk.
You can use any bottom feeding rda with your dripbox - and there are more and more of them every day.
Maybe they were confused by the way that stock rda kind of "distributes" the juice with deck holes - but that's not how the juice GETS there - it gets there like EVERY bottom-feeder - through a hole in the pin.

So - YES get another bottom feed rda.

And since you mentioned Goon - MANY (not all) of the Goon clones (and the authentic Goon LP) COME WITH a bottom feed pin.
So you'd be all set.

This is correct
Any RDA can be used on it...you do tho need a BF pin in the RDA to squonk with it.

Moved this from "Where can I get a......?" to RDA :)

Correct. You can use a regular RDA on the DripBox as long as you are not using it to squonk. I would just go the extra mile and make sure that if you keep the 510 connection dry when you use a non-BF RDA for safety's sake.

The mod may be a regulated device and have short protection, but it's better to be safe than sorry when dealing with liquids and electricity.

Just a quick note of caution. I have the dripbox and dripbox 160. Just remember that the 510 pin is not spring loaded so not everything makes perfect contact or sits flush depending on the atty. For example I bought 2 velosity clones one V1 mini and one V2. Both come with BF pins. The V2 I have to unscrew the pin too far to make contact the V1 mini was just a quarter turn. Maybe its just being a clone but just want to make sure OP is aware of non spring loaded 510 on the dripboxes.

Sometimes putting a Small O-ring under a Atomizer's 510 Pic can help extend how far the 510 sticks out.
