Welcome Kevin !! I am fairly new to vaping myself but the one thing that I do know is that I Love my MVP and I wish that I would have gotten it before I spent $100's on the cheap stuff. I almost gave up on vaping because of all of the problems that I was having until I got my MVP. I use mine with a Kanger Pro Tank 3 and it works GR8. Have a GR8 DAY & HAPPY VAPING :)

The mvp2 is a good place to start for new vapers;
there's supposed to be an mvp3 out or coming out soon.

Meanwhile there is also the istick that came out this year.

For cloud chasing purposes, look for RDA's

some popular rda's are
mutation x
plume veil
igo- w l m ....
magma
veritas
stillare
trident
hobo
doge

rda, istick, 30 gauge kanthal and you're off to a good start.

Welcome aboard!

I'm not a cloud-chaser myself, but I have 3 MVPs. They might be a bit under-powered for what you're seeking. Serious clouds might be achieved by combinations of coil resistance/higher power and VG (higher VG = more vapor volume) ratio in your juice. The MVPs really aren't well-suited to vape much below 1.2Ω, but I have seen some folks say they get down as low as 0.8Ω. I personally have my coils between 1.7-1.9 ohms and run about 50/50 juices.

The iStick can function well at higher wattage, but it's also limited to about 1Ω for a minimum resistance.

I don't sub-ohm (none of my devices at the time can handle it) However, a good Nautilus with BVC coil produces a decent-sized cloud for me.
