The KISS principal Keep It Simple S......
This is what I learned from Spinfuel Magazine's Guide to vaping - Steeping ejuice
http://content.spinfuel.com/spinfuels-guide-to-vaping-steeping-ejuice/

IF the question is "Should I steep?" The answer is YES!
Unless the vendor specifically says they have pre-steeped the elquid and/or you dont feel that it needs to be blended better.

1.Shake the bottle for about twenty seconds to a minute, to mix up the contents
2.Take the cap off
3.Squeeze a bit of air out
4.Put the cap on
5. Store the liquid in a cool dark place
6. Wait two weeks.

I figured i should post this in the new members area for one simple reason. That reason being, I almost quit vaping after reading the millions of insane posts about it.
It seems quite a few people have their own beyond insane, complex and ridiculous contrived methods of steeping. There is no need to boil a pot of water, sacrifice a chicken and pray to the moon on alternating Tuesdays while taking the cap on and off.

Just steep it.

Reasons to steep.

1. No flavor
2. Weak flavor
3. More aromatic than flavorful
4. Better emulsion of the nicotine and other ingredients.

Ahaha. actually lol'd

I just heat a cup of water in the microwave and set a bottle of fresh mixed liquid in it. Reheat the water after 5 minutes or so. Shake the mix good when it gets hot and thin. Can barely tell a difference between fresh and some that's months old. Setting it somewhere with vibrations will speed it up too.

DaydreamingRobot,

Excellent, and the link you posted was very simple and insightful.

You know, I just received my Itaste MVP2 the other day and this was my first experience with E-Liquids. The first flavor did not taste right at all and the second tasted better but a little burnt.

After reading this post and the link posted above I noticed the bottles on my E-Liquid and they were dated 10/29/13. Assuming that that's not a bunch of bull.... it's very newly made and has not been steeped at all and yes it was purchased online.

Thanks again, man. :)

EDIT: This also reminds me that I need to be mindful of who I purchase from. I still need to steep but I certainly do not want "junk-juice" as the link above calls it.

It kind of makes me wonder why manufacturers dont steep all their Liquids before shipping out.

Why do they wait until an order comes in to brew up the liquid ordered which ensures that it has not had the necessary steeping?

I bet a lot of people (Newbies like me) order up a vaporizer and some liquid and then give it a whirl only to be disappointed in the flavor and burning taste. Neither the web store where I purchased my Innokin MVP2 nor another web store where I purchased the E-Liquid ever even hinted at steeping it.

.

the reason why they do this is so they dont need to keep as much stock on hand. and order comes in they can use what they they have on hand to make it and get it out the door. that way it keeps over head down and profits up. some of the more popular flavors they might have a few hundred mL's worth stilling around. but for the smaller juice vendors its made after you order it..

I don't think the burnt taste that you may be getting is from not steeping.... If you have a vv/vw mod you may have it set too high. While I agree that steeping won't hurt to bring out the flavor, I don't think it's the cause of the burnt taste you are getting.

I just started making my own liquid a couple of weeks ago. I use 10ml "test tubes" to mix the test batches. I mixed two different batches last week and after sitting for two days I picked up the tubes to shake them. In both of them the VG had not combined with the rest of the mix. If you rolled it back and forth it kind of looked like a "lava light". I took both tubes and put them in a coffee mug with water and set it on my coffee warmer. It held at about 120 deg f. After one hour the VG had blended with the PG and flavor. Given enough time it probably would have mixed by itself but I think the heat may speed up the process.

Check your ingredients they should mix well with just a bit of shaking or mixing. Make sure everything you are using is water soluble you should not need to heat it at all.
