Something I used before vaping, and use even more now, is an herbal tea called Throat Coat
I was going to suggest this also! Haven't been singing much lately, but it is wonderful and I always have a large to go cup of it when I sing. Use it throughout. I'm lucky, I love the taste of it works great

There may or still is a spray called Chloroseptic [I think that's what it's called/spelled]. It's an OTC spray for sore throats & remember that it works really well.
My brother in law is a professional opera singer that had vocal chord probs. & I told him about it. He uses it when he sings & swears by it.
I think I've seen their lozenges too. You might want to give it a try.

Hope that helps.

I've always been told to avoid Chloroseptic because it numbs. You can do damage without feeling it. The Throat Coat mentioned above is tried and true and will not numb vocal folds.

Thank you Deb!

Wow - so many singers here!

As I said earlier, I barely sing a few background vocals. I am not even in a band any more due to health reasons, but will help out on recording sessions occasionally. It's not that I don't like singing, I love it! I just don't like being center of attention. And I really enjoy songs with interesting harmonies.

In the band, I never had more than one or two drinks while performing, because any more and I couldn't play keyboards worth a darn. But I used to go to karaoke with a friend, and after 3 or 4 drinks, I would sing my heart out LOL
