single coil vs dual coil

So everyone at my favorite vape shop sais they prefer dual coils, but it seems to me that i get better preformance out of singles, keep in mind i build my own...i have a kanger aerotank, after bein sorely disappointed eith the dual coils in it i tried to rebuild it a couple times, both times a success, but with little improvement from the factory coil, so i put the aero base on my protank 2 (single coil) and i have found a single coil is what i prefer...anyone have any tips that might redeem my faith in dual coils, even if not id love to get some other peoples input either agreeing or disagreeing i want your opinions...thanks ahead of time for your responses

I love my dual coil builds in my sub-ohm build RDA, but for my bottom feeders, like the PT2, PT3, and Kayfun, single coil is the way to go for me.

Specifically on the PT3, I got much better results when I rebuilt a single coil at 1.6 ohms and stuck a flavor wick on top of it to prevent leakage. But in the end, I was happier with the PT2 in its natural single coil state, so the PT3 went to a buddy, who wanted a starter setup.

I generally also prefer a well-built single coil to most duals, but I do like the Aspire line--some of them are really nice and the taste is possibly better than the Kangers. It's all subjective. Dual coils will drain your batteries faster (they require more wattage to work well), they are juice hogs, but they produce more vapor.

Use whatever works for you!

I've not noticed a big enough difference in duel or single coil on anything so far....except in price for replacements and difficulty in rebuilding (on most of them.) I think if I were going to go duel coil it would be with something that is meant to be able to be rebuilt...like rebuildable drippers and the rebuildable tank atomizers...and even then I'd probably go with a single coil Kayfun. That's just me though and others may have other experiences than me.

In a Kanger tank? Not even worth the trouble. Now that I think about it a little more, not worth my trouble in anything else either. My dripper is dual coil, but sometimes I get lazy and just plug one of the air inlets and use it single coil too. Build a dual coil in a PT2 head? I could think of many more and less frustrating ways to spend an hour or so, IYKWIM.

I tried it it wasn't worth the effort to stuff those tiny coils in that tiny space, singles coils all the way!:vapor:
Edit: I do love my dual coil steam turbine build though but I only use that at home. don't see the need to fog out my workplace lol

I did the same as you, thought the aero tank sucked. put the base on the protank 2 and it was great.

I also you single coil in drippers and kayfun.

I never noticed any difference between single vs dual clearomizers.

I have never built a dual coil for my rebuildables, I've been perfectly happy with a single coil.

With cartos, I definitely prefer a single coil vs a dual coil. IMO, the bottom holes in a punched cartomizer won't keep the filler wet up to the middle of the carto where the upper coil is located in a dual coil. After a few hours of vaping, I always got a burnt taste, most likely from the top coil burning the filler material because it had become dry. I never get that burnt taste with my single coil cartos. YMMV.

Using a 3-hole punched dual coil carto in a tank, I have never had that problem. If I am using a higher VG eliquid, I will add a slot with my Dremel which helps insure good liquid penetration throughout the carto.
