dual coils are a gimmick like puff counters, etc IMO. one coil, two coil, three coil, four - it's all the same if you know what you're doing as far as ohms and voltages go the juice it's heating is all that really matters when it comes down to it. Now, ppl will claim this juice or that tastes better when 55 coils are heating it but they've just been sucked into the ad-monster like the ppl that shave their face w/ a gillete w/ 62 and a 1/2 razor blades... In my experience 1 bridgeless coil/atty is more than adequate...

:)

Thanks, darkhood and Katya! I've been happy with my single coils, and was just wondering if I was missing something. There is just so much information to try to absorb as a noob.

Np. btw if you find an atty that works for you and lasts a long time my advice is don't go looking for something better unless u plan on diving into RBA's...ul just wind up wasting $

bought a dual coil carto tank the other day....(that's all they had)...don't mind using the carto, tastes really good...my observations: My provari 18650 battery dies hours earlier than when I use a vivi nova tank....the carto also seems to get quite warm....is that normal or is it because of the brand? If I switch to a single coil will I have as much heat coming from my tank? I also purchased online a glass tank...hoping that helps?? Any suggestions?

Hey btw not puting anyone down or anything - personally I bought a dual coil smoktech atty a while back to see what all the fuss was about and it hit pretty well...for about 3 days...then it died like every other atty I ever bought...but that's me...I enjoy destroying atties....also it hit too hot and gunked up rly quick...overall I'd call it a piece of crap and a waste of $. Wasn't disappointed though lol, totally expected outcome :)

Didn't read that but I'll just say from my pov dual coils are an obvious marketing gimmick like I said...best left to the (there's no icon fer sheep....hmmm...they should add that lol)

:)

Some people use them and like them, but one really needs a big battery (and adequate amp limit) to really make them work. Ohm's law cannot be defied. ;)

The lower the resistance of your atty (and the higher the voltage of your device), the faster your battery will drain. What's the resistance of your ViVi?

BTW - SmartVapes 306 1.8ohm E cig Dripping Atomizer

Best damn atty I ever bought...been 3 months now and it's still hitting...threw everything I could at it...it will not be defeated lol, I love it. aAnyway man, stick w/ ur single coils and call urslef old school if it makes u feel better :D

Really? I used atties briefly, in the past, but I have no patience for dripping. I like to fill 'er up and go about my business. But I agree that when it comes to taste, atties can't be beat. Even though those new BCC (bottom coil changeable) clearos come pretty close.

Nice drip tips. :)

I just use em to test new flavors, easiest way to do it... I use 2.4 vivi heads btw @ 4.8 - 5.6 volts (depending on what their actual resistance is- mine read anywhere from 2.5 to 3.0 normally...and they're genuine - damn chinese lol)

Hi Hope. Yes the extra heat is normal, as well as the missing battery life. Thats what the low ohm load does. Espcially when you are trying to run a booster mod(single battery mod that "boosts" voltage above battery level like provari/lavatube/ etcetera). See the ohm load of he carto as a whole is 1.5, now the coils in said carto are 3ohms each, wired together to bring the load down (parallel), this is giving you more heating surface in contact with the liquid allowing more to be heated to vapor at any given time, but the draw on the battery is exponentially higher than a single coil, even of the same resistance.

Since you specifically have a variable voltage device you would be better served to get yourself some single coil cartos or the same (or any other) tank, and run a little higher voltage to obtain your desired results. This will lighten the load on your battery giving you better use time and be capable of providing you with a similar (if not near identical) vaping experience.

Yes dual coils can vaproize much more liquid than a single coil, but they are best used as if they where a single coil resistance (when I use them I typically run them at or above 5.7volts) but this requires a very hefty battery and regulator that is not readily available in a production mod. Lately(a few months) I have had nearly zero use for any dual coil cartos between the Vivi and the Evod tanks, they are too easy to fill and keep clean to diddle with much else. I dont even have any desire to go back to cartos or even to "upgrade" to any of the rebuildable genesis type tanks that are collecting dust in my vape cabinet.

Everyone has therir own sweet spot. Heres to hoping you find yours. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

I use smoktech duel cartomizers almost exclusively. It's hard to describe why I prefer them. I feel the vapor quality is better. It's the same volume of vapor I get from a single coil cartomizer, but the vapor seems more dense or thicker. I also find that the vape is slightly warmer.

The sound is also different. With a single coil carto, it's pretty loud, and the crackling is fast. With the duel coil carto's, the crackling is much quieter, and it crackles slower. But the sound doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. You'll never know if you like it until you try it. As far as battery life goes, I haven't noticed that big of a difference. I can make it through an 8 hour workday on one 650mah ego battery with a duel carto. And I'm confident it will last on the drive to and from work. Thats all that really matters to me. If a battery dies at home, I have plenty of spares.

Hi Scoper! I know plenty of people who love their DC cartos! You should use what you like and what works for you. There is no perfect PV and we are all different. I used to read juice reviews and buy what other members raved about--I have a big box full of other people's "best-ever" eliquids. I think it's time to throw them out, BTW; some of them are almost three years old.

We can only share our own experience, our own personal preferences, no more.

[Hey, I love that snap-crackle-pop sounds of my Boges... The DC cartos were way too quiet for me. :D]

Happy vaping!
