Let me start by saying I know this has nothing to do with vaping so anyone lurking around looking for more reasons to ban ecigs can just go pi$$ in the wind.

I am having the worse sinus headache I have ever had. I have taken Sudafed, Claritin, advil, Tylenol, Nyquil and one of every pain pill I have in the last couple of days trying to get rid of it. I even broke down and used Flonase and I cannot put into words how much I hate nasal sprays. I have a doc appt on Friday but in the meantime I feel like the front of my face is going to explode.

Any ideas are welcome.

Jules,

You poor thing! Been there myself. Broke down and went to an emergency clinic about 6 months ago when I woke up with the worst headache in recent memory. They put me on Levaquin... but I won't go there in this post. Wasn't good for me, but did get rid of the sinus infection.

The med that works for me now is the highest dose of Mucinex you can buy. I took it with the Levaquin and now I take it when I have a sinus inf and it works great. I take like clockwork every 12 hours with tons of water as soon as an infection hits now. Helps release the pressure and brings my headaches down to tolerable working conditions until the infection is gone on its own.

Good luck! Hope you find something that works for you until Friday...

Here is what StephanieMS had me do:

its better if someone else does it
but take your fingers and press in right above your eyebrow bridge
sweep across that area in a line above the brow pushing in as hard as you can stand it
then press down either side of you nose pushing in pretty hard
do the brow again and then press straight up from the top of your nose to top of forehead

It actually helped me a lot.

I can never take the pain of that even on a day to day basis (I have chronic sinusitis and allergies), but if you can it is an effective method as well.

Jules lay reclining, it will facilitate the process...sorry, big words lol my dh is in medicine and every time a med related conversation comes up my large vocab sneaks out on me.

I was a ward clerk at a hospital for 2 years, worked in a private doc office for 4 years and after everything I've beenthru the last 5 years I know just enough to be annoying, lol I always look up new meds and double check side effects and such and I use big words too. Drives the hubby nuts, lol

Right now it feels better than it has since MOnday doing that. When I'm ready to go to sleep, Im going to use your warm washcloth thing too. Thanks for all the great info!

When you used the netti pot did you use a saline soultion? That use to help my son and daughter when we were in Cheyenne. The dry, thin air up there in the clouds (another half mile higher then the Mile high city of Denver) was brutal on us Fla. Crackers. The kids used a baby squeeze bulb, not a netti pot. They also had to hang their heads over the bed and apply hot cloths. If you have some menthol drops or crystals, disolve a tiny bit in steaming water and do the old lean over the bowl of water with a towel over your head trick.
By the time you've done all that it will be Friday!

HA HA. They DO have them at Walmart. That's where I get them. They are called Vicks Shower soothers or something. They might even have a generic brand by now

Tip: Get the shower hot and steamy and put it kinda close to the water so it gets it going and just take deep breaths. Also, that thing gets HOT so don't touch it with your foot.

Walmart had the ones made my Sudafed and it really did help a lot. Between that, the nyquil and the massage thing it is at a tolerable level now. Thanks for the tips! Oh yeah, I just got a new hot water heater today so the water was plenty hot,lol

Let us know what the Doctor says..nosy women want to know (me).
Feel better sweety!:)

lol You sound just like me,lol I'm sure it's a sinus infection. I'm no stranger to them. Actually had to have the sinus surgery back in 1999 I got so bad with sinus infections. This is the first one I've had in a long time. Hopefully the last for another 10 years, lol Thanks for the concern!

Sinus infection with fluid built up in my ear. Thing is I just finished a round of antibiotics for pneumonia. You'd think that would have taken care of it. Go figure, lol I have my Claritin and a cough syrup that is used to dry up my ear from the inside so all should be better soon. I do feel better today.

MaryKay, you are such a sweetie for caring! Thanks for that!
