Hi, I'm starting to look seriously at the Precise 16340, and am wondering which cap is better if I'm going to be putting my thumb on top or on the top edge? Is the flat one comfortable for this? It seems more secure . . . Does your thumb slip off of the slant one? I'll be dripping 99% of the time. Please share your experiences. Thanks!

My understanding is that the P+16 is currently not available with the slant top, only flat top.
So if you want a slant top you need to get an older one.
This may or may not make your decision easier.

I don't think the P+16 is available at all at the moment - unless you purchase it from a reseller like Cloud 9 (who has the slant top in stock at the moment).

Hopefully David will chime in, but I don't think a true P+16340 is available with a flat top. I think, though I'm not certain that the only flat top 16340s that were available lately were the scratch & dent specials. I never have seen flat top as an option when buying one new. I might be wrong though.
Now having said all that, I'm holding one of each in my hands right now. Realistically for me, there's actually not enough room on either one to rest my thumb. The flat portion left after you put the atty on is maybe 1/4" on the flat top, if'n you want your thumb right up against a hot atty I suppose you could do it. This mod is small.

the original P16 were all flat tops, the slant cap did not come around until Mr. ologist (Vaporologist) asked for a special order with a slanted cap. I believe for a while it was called the Vladdy cut in his honor. Now with the P+340 I cant say that I have paid much attention so you may be right about that.
