OK... So I have always been that guy who hits the pillow and 3 seconds later and out to the world and I dont move for a solid 8 hours. So I'm sure you can understand that when I have nights when I just toss and turn untill 3am I'm a little upset. This is on the egde of freaking me out honestly. I wounder if its the vaping before bed. I know at one point in time I was using the patches. The warning lables on the patch state that you may want to remove before you go to bed. They say it can effect your dreams and sleeping habits. I did have one vivid dream in the last week. As I did while I was on the patch and stop wearing them at night. The dreams did stop as well. So I think on my next order I'm getting very low nic level juice. this is really freakin me out. I hope I sleep well tonight. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you believe it is e cig related? I could really use some advice.

Need more details, Were you a long time smoker?
When did you quit analogs?
Are you using other medications , either NRT or sleep aids etc?
Did you have a change in habits (other than cigarettes) work, routine, excersize?

My personal experience; i was a 34 year smoker, switched to ecigs about 2 months ago, i've had 0 cigs, i sleep and eat better, more energy, overall improvement in health. There were nights off tobacco that i had more dreams, i assume because i wasnt stirring like i did when i was smoking. Probably a bad idea to continue smoking analogs, vaping and NRT, even your doctor would advise agaisnt all three.

I've had problems falling asleep, too. I was always a little bit of a night owl, and staying up until 2 was not uncommon, but lately I can't fall asleep until 3:30 or so. I sleep great once I fall asleep, but it's getting to sleep at night that is problematic. Fortunately, my job is such that I can make up my sleep by staying in bed until 9:30 or so, but it is getting annoying. I was a 2 pack/day smoker for 35 years, been off cigarettes for a little over a month now, and am using 5-10 mg nic.

For what it's worth, I've tried a prescription sedative without relief, I've tried setting my alarm clock to get up at 8:00 so I'd be exhausted, and it has all been without success. The only thing which helped a little bit was a mixed drink around 11, which probably only helped because I very rarely ever drink (I maybe average 1 a month).

I keep hoping it will pass, but it's been about a month now with no relief. Maybe with fall upon us and the early darkness, my body can be duped into hitting the horizontal a little earlier.

I toss and turn as well if I vape heavily before bedtime. This also happens to be a time very conducive to vaping-- when I am chilling for an hour or so surfing the internet and watching TV. What I have done is to go with a much lower nicotine level for the hour or so before bed. This way I can chain vape without tweakin' myself out at bedtime.

I'm not on any med and nothing has really changed in my life recently. I tend to vap very heavily the last 30 to 45 mins before bed. I just dont understand it. I would always smoke before I went to bed and no issues. I smoked a pack a day for 15 years. The last 6 months I have been trying to cut back and I did. I got down to 3 to 4 packs a week. I wouder ifI'm actually taking in more nic now that I'm vaping. All my juices are 24mg and 35mg. I would say that since I dont have to go outside to vape I do vape more than I smoked..... I think, lol.

You and I are in the same boat as far as the dreams and insomnia. Oh how I suffered (almost made me want to stop vaping). So I'll go out on a limb and say it's normal. Very upsetting, but normal. I started vaping in Oct. 2009 and had my last analog in Mar. 2010. The good news is that I'm back on track, no more dreams, no more insomnia.

I did have to cut the nicotine content down from 24mg to 11mg. That took, ummm, maybe 3 months. And, I have to force myself to put the PV down between 10 and 11pm. You'll probably have to make a few minor adjustments to find what works and it may get a bit bumpy when you finally say goodbye to the analogs for good, but hang in there. Soon you too will be enjoying a deep and healthy sleep. Someone was smoking near me today, I was pleasantly shocked that I didn't want it.

Yes, I went through this hell for about two months. Sometimes I didn't fall asleep until 3ish. I thought it was from my body detoxing, but it may have been from the 24mg I started vaping with. I have my regular sleeping habits back, but now I'm down to 0mg. I agree with the other posters in saying that you might want to get some of your favorite juices in 6-11mg for vaping before sleeping. I feel for you. Good luck.

Same problem and same advice. As an alternative to buying some premixed juice in "before bed" strengths (11mg or lower), you can always lower the nicotine content of any premixed juice by diluting it with PG or VG. If necessary, you can add flavoring to perk up the flavor. I keep a few bottles of generic vanilla, cherry, and tobacco flavoring around for just that purpose.

Low nic vaping at night has made a world of difference for me in terms of sleep. Insomnia is miserable.

Yep, the answers are correct, Nicotine is indeed a stimulant and its so easy to 'overvape' , new term but it sounds good...lol, before bed.

The answer is as everyone else has said, cut down the nic level during the late evening. Or how about having some 0mg made up and ready for those evenings when you are going to be engrossed in a movie or something before going to bed. If you are like me, thats when I overvape.

A real cigarette would last, what 5 mins? how many of us actually put an ecig down after 5 mins?

Varying our nicotine intake, or, simulate the way you used a packet of cigarettes.

Last night, I filled a carto with a new juice, and it was really pleasant, so I overvaped......and guess what I tossed and turned and was still awake at 3:30am, but I knew I had no-one or nothing to blame but myself..

I had the same problem. I was also manic the first month. Then all of a sudden I went back to my normal routine of falling asleep quickly. I do 18mg pretty much all day and vape while I read before going to sleep. Give it a bit more time and see if things change. The one good thing I found was that I sure did get a lot done in that month. I didn't feel tired, quite the opposite but when I leveled out I was whipped. I think cigs just have so much other stuff in them that we don't really know how our bodies are going to react coming off of them.

I can't thank you all enough I thought I was the only one. The feedback has really made me feel alot better about this. I have been off cigs for 3 weeks. Its been the first time in 15 years and I love it. I posted in the" wants" thread for 0 or low nic level juice. They keep mentioning going to walmart or the pharmacy to buy some plain pg? I know it may sound silly but, what....... I dont even understand that pg is let alone what to look for when I walk into walmart or the pharmacy. Could someone explain or give me a link that s none e cig related so I can get a better grasp on this.
