Slightly off topic but why do bottles size differ

My brain must be equally tiny, because I've wondered about the very same thing.

I recently bought a pyrex tank advertised as holding 3ml, but it easily holds 4 and a half.

Could it be that Americans are still completely baffled by the decimal system?

it appears you are baffled, since you're calling the metric system the decimal system lol

Yes, and it's handy to have a little extra room in the bottles. When I'm steeping a juice, I like to squeeze a little air out of the bottle and suck a little fresh air into it.

My guess is that you are not meant to fill the bottles all the way. Actually helps when steeping so you can shake the liquid. I work at an ecig shop. Our 5ml bottles are 7ml, 10ml bottles are 12ml, you get the picture. They are all slightly larger.
