I thought I'd share my impressions after patronizing Slim's E-Juice online store, and sampling some of the wares. It's not the fanciest-looking web location you'll visit, but it confidently markets what must be one of the largest menus of e-liquid flavors available from a homespun-type operation. Online since 2013, apparently they mix for many local stores.

-----
Selection - This is a little intimidating, to be honest. It's easy to choose a flavor category from the "E-juice Flavors" drop-down menu, at leftmost on the top bar, and there's a huge pile of good stuff under there worth exploring. But right next to it is a link for "Slim's Signature E-juice," and if you're like me you skirt the pedestrian lanes and dig into the pride of the franchise. Why waste time with the common stock when you can examine a few of the jewels instead? Click. POW!

*Slim has 109 signature blends*

What? One hundred and nine! All with slick names and pictures that frequently impute no understanding of the flavor profile. Examining these is a big click-job, so start by switching the Display from Grid to List view, where at least you can read the start of the description before opening the selection's page (and do that in a separate browser tab, I suggest).

Full Descriptions - Perhaps my favorite thing about the site is the full listing of flavor notes, and these are detailed enough to feel like a bit of DIY training.

Honest Reviews - Good ones and bad ones are all on display.

Shipping - I ordered Sunday night 9 Aug. It was shipped with tracking on the 11th and received on the 13th, a day ahead of USPS estimate. Orders over $50 (like mine) get free Priority Mail shipping.

Bottles and Labels - Neatly and legibly hand-written on a pre-print sticker, with no indication of mix date (at least on the 10mL size). The bottles are soft-squeeze clear plastic with narrow tips and child-resistant caps.

Price and Volume - Right in my zone. 5x10mL sample packs are $23. Standalone pricing is $4.75/10mL, $9.50/30mL, $14/50mL, $20/100mL (2x50mL), $40/250mL (5x50mL), $36/8oz bottle (236mL), $70/16oz bottle, and $116/32oz bottle. Yes, you can buy it by the quart. But wait! Nearly every page advertises the permanent 20% discount code: thankyou. It works. A card that came with my first order offered a code for a free 30mL bottle as well.

Customization - You get the clear feeling that you can have it your way. On the selection page, nicotine is added in 2mg/mL increments from 0-12, then in 4mg increments up to 36. The PG/VG Ratio selection is just a little vague; other than Slim's Standard Mix (60PG) and 50/50 (that's mine), you can choose "More" PG/VG and "Max" PG/VG. The Flavor Level can be Standard (15%) or Heavy (20%), and Double (30%) is available for a little upcharge based on bottle size. Available "addons" include Sour, Menthol, Sweet cream, Sweetener, Smooth, Koolada, Crème la crème, and Ethyl maltol. A "Special Requests" box lets you know you can add any flavor or request a custom nic level...I suspect you could specify a custom PG/VG ratio here also, or remove a flavor from a blend. There's one more option available, but they don't like to talk about that here, so I won't (it's legal, though). And if you want to try something they don't already have, there's a page where you can Create Your Own E-Juice, using any five or fewer (non-signature blend) flavors on the site, plus optional addons.

They've also recently added a "Cloud Juice" line, with maximum possible VG using VG nicotine base (0-12mg strength), currently consisting of 10 different blends in 50mL glass bottles for $25 (before discount).
-----

Once I got warmed up, I started choosing, and my fantasy cart got a little top-heavy. I settled on 3 sample packs, and have tried out the first five flavors already. I like them all. Descriptions next post....

his apple cheesecake pie is rocking

I ordered that one too! But it wasn't in my first round of trials. I'm usually very rigorous about steeping, especially when first trying a vendor, and that one seemed best left for later. However, I totally broke my 2-week rule and ripped right into these, and I wasn't one bit sorry. Nope.

My whole order was 50/50 12mg Standard flavor strength.

Apple Butter (Apple, Clove, Cinnamon and Brown Sugar) - Found under "Classic Recipes." I wouldn't say it's like stealing a spoonful of White House brand, but it's a very authentic taste, and a quality vape flavor. It's got a light spicy sweetness that might be very good for a recent ex-smoker trying to move away from tobacco taste. I already have an awesome idea for a custom blend with it, based on a childhood kitchen experiment-gone-right.

Badger Grease (Vanilla Custard, Brown Sugar, Honey, Sugar Cookie and Toasted Almond) - From the "Signature Mixes." This stuff will probably kill me, but I'm glad I tried it beforehand. Imagine a perfectly balanced blend of those flavor notes, where each is somehow easily detectable, coating your palate like a well-greased biscuit pan. So rich, I can't believe it's only Standard flavor level. Wow, it's hard to move on from this treat.

Castle Short (Kentucky Bourbon, Coconut, Toasted Almond, Vanilla, Madagascar Vanilla, Hazelnut, Virginia Fire Cured Tobacco and Brown Sugar) - From the "Signature Mixes." I've never tried the famous Long namesake because I don't like to pay that much. But if it's as good as this clone then it's a good vape. I can taste all of this, though the tobacco is just a shadow at this point. It's delicious, and if it gets any better with steeping I'll have to send Slim extra money. OK, maybe I'll just buy another bottle instead. Then I'll stir it with a charred popsicle stick to make a "reserve" version.

Chocolate Covered Cherries (Wild Cherries and Milk Chocolate) - Found under "Great Combos." As many of us have discovered, these two flavors are highly susceptible to ick factor in a vape recipe. Not this time. No cough drops or laxatives here. Very, very pleasant and sweet, and not too heavy. I had it with morning coffee and it was perfect.

Snake's Blood (Pear, Bavarian Cream and Coconut) - From the "Signature Mixes." I had already ordered this when a thread popped up asking about a possible replacement for Seduce Juice's Snake Oil. I mentioned this one, though I'd never tried either of them, so I thought I'd better try it out quickly. I'm happy to report that Slim's version is splendid. The pear is prominent but not too harsh, and the cream knits it with the coconut in a very mellow way. Another winner here.

So there you have it, an amazing five for five, with no steep time to speak of. I promise you that the only reason any of these little bottles will survive the weekend is because I have ten others to try! I have a tolerant taste, and I've liked quite a few vapes in my short career, but this is certainly my best-ever experience trying a new vendor.

I have them bookmarked.

It would take years to work through the entire menu  But they do have some interesting choices, and some I would love to try. Plus the price point is manageable. It's a bit daunting with the expansive menu, plus all of the extra add-on options.

Thanks for the review and overview, man00ver. :thumb:

Time to talk up the second round!

-----
Apple Dragon Cream (Dragonfruit, Green Apple, Caramel, Vanilla Custard, Bavarian Cream and Sweet Cream) - Of course, it's very creamy, lightly sweet and easy to vape. Not being overly familiar with dragon fruit, I ordered this one to cross-confirm that taste against another juice I've tried (Dragon Dew from ITC), and it worked well for that purpose. It adds a light melon flavor to the cream-swaddled candy apple blend. It's not really in my favorites lane, but that said, it's still pretty good!

Applewood Tobacco (Tobacco Blend with Apples and Almonds) - Now THIS. I needed it. ITC took Orangutan off the menu, so I had to find another juice that I could vape anytime, but especially when I crave a ciggy. A juice that adds that little something even better than a smooth tobacco taste. This. It's mine. Thank you. I had a tough day at work today, and I filled my office with it. It helped a lot.

Italian Stallion (Tiramisu and Irish Cream) - Right now, this is a mighty fine Irish Cream, mostly. I catch hints of the sweet dessert note on exhale, and I'm hoping it steeps forward to be less of a tease.

Law Man (Bavarian Cream, Double Dutch Chocolate, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, RY4, and Toasted Almond, Plain Tobacco, Turkish, and Vanilla Custard) - What a glorious mess. It's like a bloody international gunfight between the dastardly desserts and the tobacco top-guns. No wait, they're dancing! Yeah, I like it. It's creamy and sweet, but the tobacco flavors will not be denied. Well blended, unbelievably.

Unicorn Magic (Apple Pie, Caramel Candy, Graham Cracker, and Whipped Cream) - What the heck is with this name? Well you see, Slim has six different apple pie vapes. I ordered another (next round), and 3 of the remaining 4 are targeted for future consideration (I like apples). I'm guessing this one is Slim's favorite, since it's in the Signature Blends section, with a fancy moniker and a groovy black-light poster of moonlit Pegasus as its logo picture. Now, Pegasus is indubitably NOT a unicorn, but why quibble? The juice is wonderful. It's the best apple pie juice I've tried. A reviewer on the site likened it to Gambit, which is 5 Pawns' best-ever apple pie vape (that the thrifty I will probably never try). If you decide to judge for yourself, you won't be sorry.

Ten down and no clinkers yet. I think it's safe to say that Slim knows how to mix.

Time to round-up the last of my first order. Given the good experiences I've reported so far, expectations were high!
-----
Apple Cheesecake Pie (Apple Pie, Sweet Cream, Cheesecake, and Graham Cracker) - I love apple pie and I really like cheesecake, so I would be bitterly disappointed if this vape failed to impress me. Fortunately, it was fantastic. It tastes exactly like it should, thank goodness. Overall, I think I like Slim's "Unicorn Magic" just a little bit better, because I'm not ALWAYS in the mood for a cheesecake flavor. But when you're keen for that extra-rich apple dessert trip, this is a good destination.

Blue Moon (Blueberry and Marshmallow) - It had to happen. With 476 flavors on the menu, it would be a miracle if I liked all of them. This one hit me with a harsh and chalky-dry pixie candy flavor, with no detectable cushion of marshmallow. I didn't get the blueberry. After it sat in the tank overnight, it improved just a little. Now at the end of the next day, I get a suggestion of blueberry candy, and can pick up a little toasted mallow on the exhale, so maybe there's still hope. I'll send it off to reform school for a couple months. If it doesn't learn better manners, I can always drown it in a big puddle of ITCVapes' Custard #3. No mercy. Better shape up!

Dragon's Bane (Banana, Sweet Cream, Captain Crunch, Caramel Candy, Graham Cracker, Peanut Butter, and Vanilla Custard) - I had high hopes for this one, but it was mostly banana chips. I don't think the "captain crunch" does it any favors. It has also shown signs of overnight improvement, however, so I'm not giving up on it yet. I'm still looking for a truly great PB and 'nanna vape, so maybe I'll give Slim's "Blue Suede Shoes" a try on my next order.

Mellow Mania (Marshmallow, Kiwi, Whipped Cream, Vanilla, Lemon, and Key Lime) - Surprise! This is incredibly good! I've never tasted kiwi--fruit or fowl--in my life, so I had no earthly idea what to expect here. I'll be buying some if I can (the fruit, that is). It's a lovable sweet mild taste that rounds off the lemon-lime notes, all of them riding smoothly on a light creamy pillow. More, please.

Plum Apple Custard (Vanilla Custard, Red Apple, Plum, Cinnamon, Sweetener, and Sweet Cream) - Simply superb. Two of my favorite fruits in a tart-SWEET-sour tandem, embraced by that great custard flavor and a mere prickle of cinnamon. It tastes like a holiday thing.
-----

By now I've mostly learned what I like in a vape, and I selected these carefully, but an 87% pass rate is still no mean feat for a sample this size. Even the two that didn't thrill me may yet come around. I'm a believer in the power of proper steeping, and the most unbelievable part of this tryout for me was how awesome most of these were with NO significant steep time. I'm very impressed, and very glad I finally took the time to roll through the menu and give Slim's a shot.

Blue Moon (a big blueberry fan) was one I was looking at trying out, but now... chalky pixie sticks... not good. Let me know how it steeps. Also, how's the liquid performance on coils?

I like the fact that they let you know the recipes with things like sweetener, but clean burning liquids are a must for me. I left ITCvapes because of the gunk factor.

Slim's is definitely on the to-try-soon list, however. Thanks for the reviews. Let us know your follow-up order ;)

There will certainly be a follow-up order! At least 30-40 other flavors sound good enough to test. I *almost* bumped Blue Moon in favor of Buddha Juice (Vanilla Custard, Bavarian Cream, Black Cherry, Blueberry and Yellow Cake), for example, but the marshmallow was intriguing (plus I already had plenty of cream & custard in the cart). I've already decided to re-order at least six of these at some point not-too-distant, along with more samples. I'll be back here to report any changes with these I've tried, you bet.

I'm probably not the most discerning judge of coil effects, but I'll say this: none of the Smoktech factory coils I used were new at the outset (though they all still read 1.5ohm then), and I kept the same ones through the test. Here at the end of it, three tanks and 4.6mL later, all five heads have ticked up 0.1ohm, except for two that jumped 0.2ohm. I'm still not getting any burnt or muted flavors...except possibly Blue Moon, I guess (it sure didn't taste burnt, though). That coil reads 1.6ohm now, and I'll be filling something behind it so I guess we'll see if it was a factor in the bad tryout. I doubt it though. I usually run them until they approach 2ohms or give me that funky. They're really pretty sturdy, IME. The juices are all pretty light-colored, the darkest being the Chocolate Cherry, which was a kind of deep tan color. And though I selected Standard flavor at a lower 15%, there were some mighty sweet ones in there. All-in-all, I think they didn't trouble the coils much.

Yay! I was waiting impatiently for this. I was really curious about the Apple Cheesecake. Not your run-of-the-mill flavor.

Your opinions about Slim's were a big factor when I decided to order up! I've got nine steeping from Black Axis as we speak, too. So, thanks!! :)

YW! That Plum Apple Custard sounds awesome! It's going to the top of the list. The holidays are coming, and it would be perfect. Now, if I can only find a good Pumpkin Pie. One that is not too heavy on the spice.

Mmmm....Nutella. I'm a huge hazelnut freak, so of course I had that in the overload cart. I have an evil plan for next time, to test that one, and test Fluffer Nutter also, then maybe I'd have Slim replace Fluffer Nutter's PB with Nutella to see how that is.

As if I needed to come up with new flavors over there. I guess Slim's just makes you a little crazy.
