I was having problems with the gap between the wick hole and the center post so i made a little arm out of an old needle tip
Bending the wick was not working for me, gave me lots of hot spots.
There is so much extra room on that center post, I'm sure I'll come up with something better later but this was my quick fix.

I used a piece of insulation from 12/2 house wiring - slide it over the post and into the insulator. You may need to 'work' it a little to go over the post. If it doesn't fit in the original insulator, use the insulator from an old cartomizer - it is the same diameter as the hole. Mine is now rock solid.

You can also use carto insulators on the battery end if you destroy the original, but you may need to stack 1 1/2 to get it to protrude far enough.

I'm not sure what your getting at.. all i wanted to do was get my contact point for my coil closer to the mesh wick without bending the wick, the extra room on the center post is great because it allowed me to make this little arm.

I misunderstood what you were saying, (and I didn't look at the pic:(). I thought you had said that the pos post was wobbly (and they are). I crimp non-resistive wire to the coil and never get any hot spots. However it does lower the resistance overall. I'm sure your tip about the arm does the same. Good idea.

I see that you still have that tall neg post in yours - I removed mine. Perhaps that post soldered onto an electrical eye connector would work even better - I could then simply insert the coil into the post, screw it down and attach the eye onto the pos post.

That three wrap looks like a real hot one!

Ah I get you. Mine is not wobbly but Ill keep that in mind if it ever becomes so. Also i was thinking the same thing about the eye connector its just i dont have any on hand right now lol.
As to the three wrap its not that hot because its 36 i think and i have to go three wrap or crank up the volts, I ordered the wrong spool and im stuck with it :( I am having success with doubling up the wire and spinning it in a drill effectively paralleling the wires and drooping the ohms per inch, just didnt make up one of thous for the test run on the arm.

My first one was wobbly, then I got a Birkshire from GotVapes and that one isn't. I was going to suggest the doubling, but I see you already do that. I have a spool of 36ga Nichrome, too and although it OK for Stardusts, it's not good for ss wicks. I thread mine through a big needle, hold the loose ends and spin the needle to twist 'em, making one coil at a time.

Forget where I saw it, but take the spring from a click pen, stick it over the center post, and stick a small washer over that, then stick a top nut on. Wind your wire between washer and top nut, and nothing to tighten, as the spring provides pressure. Once you get/find/make/modify a washer to your exact diameter, you're good.
