This is a concern of mine... I bought tobacco flavors for my E-cig and I'm just wondering, is the smell noticeable to other people?

One big thing is me finally getting able to smoke in the house again without worrying about the entire house smelling like tobacco, not to mention that my wife can't stand the smell of tobacco.

So am I up a creek without a paddle or...?

I think you will find that ecigs really don't smell much at all. Some stronger flavored vapors might be noticeable to someone if you blow the vapor right in their face, but there is nowhere near the same lingering stench that cigarettes have. And the smell is way different, even for tobacco flavored juices. I don't think you have anything to worry about at all.

It all depends on the nose. I have had a few juices that are very apparent to to others. Most seem pleasant to almost everyone although I did run into one woman who was allergic to PG and another I suspect is. Gives her a headache in the car. Rare though.

Just tried Vapor Renu 555 which is very strong in the room and I do not like it either.

With some strong sweet flavors, I have had people say they can smell a faint scent. But never anything really noticable. It just smells like I recently had some candy or something, ha ha.

Never had anyone say they notice tobacco flavors. But, the tobacco flavors don't really taste like tobacco, and they certainly don't taste like BURNING tobacco. So even if they did leave a scent, it would be nothing like the cig scent.

Don't worry about it. :)

There is a smell but its not the same as the stale smell of cigarettes.

My wife will go off to her parents for a weekend every now and then. When I smoked she would come home and say," Youve been smoking in the house" Not happily.

When I started vaping she came home from one of those trips and said" It smells sweet in here...is that the vaping? Its nice"

And that was Dekangs Camel Turkish Blend.

However, get a few flavors you enjoy, then test it. If she finds the smell offensive, then dont use that juice in the houe. I am sure you can find one you enjoy that she wont find the smell offensive.

constant state of confusion
I just started vaping this weekend. My daughter who is 8 months pregnant was here and I was vaping waffles with bacon. It got a craving going for her so I had to make waffles and bacon for her. I will watch what I am vaping when she is around until after the baby is born because her cravings right now are strong and she can't get things out of her mind until she eats them. My nonsmoker mother is thrilled with lack of burnt tobacco smell in the house.

Great Question Doc! I was wondering the same thing. One of the main reasons I've become such a recluse is to not offend others with the smell. I hate to say it, but I haven't dated in years because of it. A sad confession I have to say. #1 - I don't want to date a smoker because it would be such a problem when I finally decided to quit, and #2 - I don't expect a non-smoker to deal with me and my smells, and I don't want to end dates early because I'm craving a smoke. So, yes, I choose my smokes over a relationship. Wow, is all that tmi?

I never smoke in my house or my car because even though I smoke, I can't stand the smell of old, stale, embedded smoke. I also never smoke when I'm at work because I deal with the public. Now my fear is that I will be free to vape 24/7 and the cost might actually exceed what I spend on cigs, ugh!

Daisy, the sad fact is...

Vaping can cost more than cigarettes.. but it doesn't have to.

Cigarettes have an "at least" price. You have to buy so much to get a smoke. Vaping is only as expensive as you make it, depending on how many e-cigs you own, how much juice you own and how much equipment you buy.

This is all such good news! It could literally change my life! And maybe my dad's dream of me getting married one day will come true! He's always trying to sign me up for eHarmony, lol.

And yes, I am a stealth smoker too. In a way, I guess the hate is good if it keeps kids from picking it up, unlike in my day, when it was the 'cool' thing to do.

I am so ecstatic that the e-cig came along! I rate the inventor of this right up there with the guy who invented air conditioning! /cheer!
