Hello, I've been having a lot of problems with my al85. I've been using it for about half a year on and off and only recently started using it daily.
The problem is that sometimes ( about 1 in 10 ) when you hold the button it does work but the battery level goes down to 0, sits there for a bit and then comes back. Sometimes that doesn't happen and it all together just doesn't do anything. I am confused, I've tried reinstalling the battery multiple times, cleaned the contacts, etc.
Is It just time for a new battery or is It something else?

Welcome to ECF, RobisBobis. Most batteries should last longer than 6 months, unless they're in bad shape to begin with. While it is possible that the battery itself is defective, it is a bit more likely that the device has a bad board in it.

And since it's a smok, I'll go with a bad board too.

Damn that's annoying, if it is the board, It wasn't even used that much. Well I'll see what the vape shops can do, thanks for your help.

SMOK's well-marketed, but they're considered a bit lacking in the quality control and durability department. You might want to consider another brand for your replacement.

@puffon's got a point too. If you can tell us the make and model of your battery and the watts you're vaping at, we could give you an idea of whether it's likely to be a battery problem.
