So the other day I replaced my batteries in the Smok Alien and when it powered back up it asked if it was a new coil. I hit Yes by mistake and the coil in the tank that was previously reading .159 now read .174. I unscrewed the tank, fired a couple of times to rest the memory, put the tank back on and said yes to a new tank again. This time it reads .154. Is this just a factory flaw or am i reading to much into it.

I replaced the coil today and this time i get a .148 read out.

Yes but i will do again. Nice think with this set up i really get very little juice in places it shouldn't be

If you can use an eraser on the 510 of the tank and a q-tip on the mod but mostly resistance roaming is the connection between the coil and the mod so make sure your coil is nice and snug on the atty base also.

I wouldn't worry too much about it... My baby coils and I've tried all the variants can jump around between there marking on the coil and a .04 change.... As long as it tastes fine, I wouldn't worry about it and keep on rocking.

Smok mods are notorious for this. I have a video on youtube about my old xcube 2 that would give me hell trying to get a correct ohms reading. I have an alien as well and its not as bad as the xcube was. But usually unscrewing the tank then firing and screwing the tank back on will result in it reading correctly again.

Don't forget the post connections to the coil wire itself. Those will change their resistance as the connections tighten and loosen with/without heat and juice in them would also effect their resistance. Celticluvr is correct in mentioning the coil's resistance changes with temp so there are a lot of factors affecting resistance measurement including as Jordan mentions the accuracy of the mod itself. Those variations look like pretty small differences to me.
