after a year with clearomizers top coil and for the last 7 months or so with just BCC's and even the Aspire BDC. I thought I had a pretty good set up. well that changed today, I stopped in a vape store in Conyers, GA ( I travel a lot for my job and I like to look for local shops and spread the wealth or at least my vape allowance) any way I digress I have been reading here on the forum about other set up and decided to try a carto tank. the one I picked up was the SMOK DCT 510 in the large size with a 1.5ohm dual coil. this thing vapes like a train! i'm just a little vape headed right now not really use to the way this thing produces.
so my question is ....... why have these, or at least these seem to have fallen out of favor? granted I like the Kanger tanks ( I have the pt2 pt mini and an Evod along with the Aspire Vivi Nova) I know these are new, i'll most likely still use them but when I want those "dragon plumes" this carto tank rocks!

:2c:

(if I have put this in the wrong place sorry)

one year and a few days off of the stinkys............................vape on! :vapor:

If you are speaking about the brand SMOK DCT, it's because there are even better quality cartotanks available now.

If you are speaking about cartotanks in general, they have never really fallen out of favor. There was a period two summers ago when the quality of the most popular cartomizer brand at the time (Boge) dropped to previously unseen proportions - a period that was termed "Boge Gate". A portion of the cartotank crowd went the way of the new & improved clearotanks (Vivi Nova, Kangers, Innokin).

But cartotanks have always been around, and always had their fans. Cartotanks have been my primary delivery device for well over a year.

Baditude is one of the carto tank champions around here. He got me to order my first carto tank, and since then I've ordered an IBTanked carto tank, and will be ordering my SECOND IBTanked carto tank this weekend.

I think the reason carto tank aren't as popular as say, clearos, is because cartos are an older technology, so clearos are often looked at as the new best thing.

I had been using clearos EXCLUSIVELY, until I finally ordered a carto tank. At first, I didn't care MUCH for the carto tank. Nothing was wrong with it, but it just didn't seem like my cup of tea. After a few days, however, I quickly got used to it, and now I can't STAND my clearos. My kanger pro tank, and PT2 are sitting in my vape box, collecting dust.

Now, I did get an iclear30 with my MVP, and I genuinely like it. I also still use an evod bcc, but the problem with both is that they are polycarb plastics, and therefore I have to worry about what juices I put in them, which sucks.

Baditude always recommends the IBTanked carto tanks......and even though they are a little pricey, they are DEFINITELY a wonderful investment. They are worth even more than the price in my opinion, and if you like the smok dct, you'll really like the IBTanked carto tanks :D

I had used a carto tank quite awhile back, then got into clearos. I have tried probably 80% of the ones that have come out in the last year, but just couldn`t seem to like the taste of the juice in them. I picked my old carto tank back up a few days ago, and fell in love all over again. I stumbled on a video a couple of days ago of a man showing how to make your own carto tank out of an ejuice bottle. I dug around in my stuff and found a bottle that would work, and in just about 2 minutes, had me a carto tank! Works great. Now, I`m waiting on vapemail for my new tanks. In the meantime, my old one is great, and so is my "bottle tank".

I'm a newb to both vaping and cartotanks (switched from clearos to cartos about 3 weeks ago) but I have both the Smok Pyrex (aluminum sleeved) tanks as well as an IBTankd and, performance wise I see no difference (yet). Perhaps over time the IBTankd will prove to be more durable...O rings superior?...but I can't fault the Smok tanks at all. For the price they're awesome.

I put my first carto tank on my spinner 4 days ago and have not stopped using it since... Istarted with top coil clearos, went to bcc's, got into rewicking my heads with cotton. Recently winding my own coils and just for kicks threw a carto tank in my cart a week ago and-I LOVE IT! lol... Had a feeling this would happen cuz I finally broke down and switched to glass clearos-spent the money there and wish I had got a few more carto tanks instead. (or even better an amazing ibtanked tank...) O well, live and learn... I love vaping!!!
