Well just yesterday I dropped and cracked my Delta 2 tank, so I had to head out to the vape shop to pick up another sub ohm tank. Upon purchasing the smok GCT I was told that it came with .2ohm nickle coils. I was not told that these need to be used on a temperature control device. Anyways I am still using the thing on my IPV mini 2 at 50w-50w and I understand I am not getting the full potential out of these coils, however am I doing damage to them or my box mod? I have not had any problems with the thing burning too hot at all, and I had it cranked up to 65w at one point. Should I up to the IPV D2 or can I get away with this setup now. Anyways lesson learned, just stick to buying the hardware online and research before purchasing.

Arylcyclo, since the IPV Mini 2 is rated to go down as low as .2 ohms it shouldn't damage your mod. However as you put power to the Nickel coil the resistance will increase significantly and change the dynamics of your build and mod expectations. Since that mod doesn't have the capability to adjust power as the resistance changes with increased temperature your vape would get reduced during the firing cycle. It is up to you whether you like it or not, but it shouldn't hurt your mod since it is within specs.
