I think there's already one person on this thread who received their's in the last few days who would be able to answer that in more detail. The Guardian here was the mechanical version that came out a year ago I caught on sale. I'm still in the loop waiting for the Guardian II to be shipped out.

I think there's already one person on this thread who received their's in the last few days who would be able to answer that in more detail. The Guardian here was the mechanical version that came out a year ago I caught on sale. I'm still in the loop waiting for the Guardian II to be shipped out.

I just got my first pipe very recently (k1000 with aerotank mini [.08 dual coil heads] short hook delrin drip tip, handles like a corncob pipe) but had been researching what's available for awhile. I don't see myself returning to a cylindrical device, I'm comfortable with the power limitations; been doing it long enough so know what I can get by with.

Your info posted here concerning vendor availability is by far the most up to date I can find, appreciate your updates. As soon as I saw the Guardian II pics I knew I must own one.

I'm not a fan of T-grip pipes, the angled connection is a selling point to me. Not to mention I hate gold plating. I'd grab a pioneer over a first gen guardian.

You won't have to worry any about gold plating since the next Guardian is strictly Stainless on top of the wooden body. As for the first version which is a mechanical type unregulated I'm still trying to find the ideal tank or clearomizer while the Smok T-Dux 2.0 type seem to be working the best for that. Tumblers, Aerotanks, and other larger tank seem to require at the typical eGo type 3.7v battery if not a Twist, Spinner, or other regulated mod in contrast to see the better results.

Upon placing what has so far proven to be just another pre-order despite the vendor showing "available" I made the inquiry about the gold plated version when not finding that as an option at any vendor and received the reply back when vendor made an inquiry to Smoktech apparently finding out that those photo were factory promos made from initial product samples not what would be out on the market. For me while I might tend to favor the Guardian II with a gold button I wasn't going to hesitate grabbing the stainless since either would still be a VW type epipe over what has been seen so far.

Now as far as cylindrical I suspect you may be referring to both eGo type batteries or Vamo type APVs? Some nice little box mods as also now being seen as well as what I call improved 18650/26650 types. Those I tend to favor more when at the pc or out somewhere however over what I would be using the Guardian I + II models for however namely kicking back and taking in a few flicks rather then holding a weighty box type. Yet I still ordered a wooden body Vamo Fire 20watter as well as the Smok BEC Pro Vamo type 50w APV there as well. It's called getting to where you want to be by taking advantage of Black Friday, Cyber Monday week, etc.! :toast:

I hear you on that for sure! I get the.. "oh you and your hookahs!" from a few that do not take vaping seriously since they haven't given up the tobacco side of things.

Here I the BEC Pro and Vamo Fire likely the last of the Vamo type coming as well as the DovPo E-LVT 30w box mod with flash light and usb charging port as seen on the MVPs. But there's a reason at the same time for the various hardwares in order to match up with the various new flavors I sample as well as see tossed in with hardware orders at times. That provides a sort of collection while it allows the larger variety of comparisons I can make on different things.

Bump with some real good news for a change people! :toast: I just got this in from the smokstore.us:

Hi,Mr David,

John at sales dept

The SMOK Guardian E=Pipe II has been shipped! It should be in sometime late next week since it takes days to arrive as well as to go through customs.. This is the way it was with the Smok BEC Pro 20w APV that will be delivered later today after the wait to clear customs on friday after that showed up. That had been ordered on 11/27 and got here much faster due to no delays since it was already out at all the vendors. The other vendors should also be showing the new epipe is in as well since the manufacturer Smok deterines the actual day they are to be released.

Just to answer the lock-ring question.. Since the Guardian 2 is a VW device, there is no lock ring. You'd just turn it off. 5-clicks is on/off. Once on, 3 clicks swaps between the lower number on the dial, and the higher number on the dial. There are 5 notches. Each has the low and high wattage number. The LED on top is white for the lower wattages, and blue for the higher wattages.

The older first Guardian is a lot different not even having the 5 or with Innokin stuff 3 clicks on 3 clicks off option. You have to turn the button clockwise until it is recessed and can no longer be pushed in to prevent misfires.

The old aluminum tube mod I had before the button stuck in and could no longer be used was 5clicks there however while the even older Smok DSE601 was an automatic epipe with plastic inserts as the cartriges which stuck and put out very little vapor! I skipped over the next two 601C having ordered the 601 by mistake and the 618 510 threaded that came out later.

Now that the response came a second time from smokestore.us I just checked up at sweet-vapes and Happy Vapes and..... still only a few very few seem to be getting any in. I'm just hoping this one will prove to be worth the wait since too many delays could suggest a manufacturering glitch resulting in a set back at getting them out?! In any event you'll have to act fast to get yours since these will disappear off of vendor shelves in a flash when people know they are actually in stock at some place.

BUMP and Update: Just checked sweet-vapes again and NADA! I got the tracking number from the other vendor however when logging in there not from any email notification and set up the USPS updates to come in from start to finish as soon as the order enters the USPS tracking system which it already has.

Mine will probably be in by mid week next week while some places still won't have them in by the looks of things.

A slight bump here since I will be expecting mine in soon after hearing back from the vendor early in the week allowing for 11 days. A Fasttech order first took 16 while the second saw 11 days. Meanwhile I found one YouTube clip that provides a close up look while in use. Ironically the Aspire Nautilus was to be my preference as well.

Mine will hopefully be in early not this week but before the 25th! In the meantime to add to the collection of things here since the first epipe was a DSE601 flop! automatic not manual I simply gave away! I ended grabbing the Guardian I as well as slapping on the Eleaf LCD Ohm and Power meter for an interesting look and feel.

You can really make out the display when repeat attempts were made to get a good snapshot. But you can get the general idea of how that works since there won't any on the G II either just the white and blue leds for the wattage ranges.

SMOK GUARDIAN I MECH WITH METER 2.jpg

The clearomizers in the first shot there are mostly for comparison since the Rocket E-SAX don't work that well to start with being like CE2 clearomizers and won't take the wattages at all while the meter read 2ohm for the Smok T-Dux 4.0 tank in use, 3.6v for the battery, and a 5.4w output.

This is my collection of E-Pipes

IMG_20141213_232339.jpg

I started with the Metal Smok e-pipe, moved on to the Karmy with a Silencer VV adapter and then finally picked up an the Water Element from e-pipe Mods.

I don't use the Smok pipe a lot these days but every now and then I want something very pocket sized and it fits that role perfectly. The Karmy is my main out and about pipe, I used to bring the Water Element, but the connection broke and I had to send it in for repairs so not it is used at home exclusively.

I plan on the Guardian 2 taking the role as my main out and about pipe. I have been looking for a good e-pipe that I can have some control of the power without spending the money for a freight train mod. They make some nice pipes over there, just like e-pipe mods, but that is a little more then I want to spend for a pipe that is my out and about pipe

I was looking at several here including those others someone else had posted being made by Smokteck as well as getting the Kick 2 mod with 510 shell that so far only worked on an old aluminum tube mod. I'm not sure if that simply quit or when the button stuck in and I couldn't get it unstuck it shorted the mod out or not. Sounds like I may drawn a little too much on the old mod to handle it!

I looked over the metal as well as the wood models and of course had once considered the DSE618 model but it still looked like an automatic which wouldn't work out here after having the 601 version. The wood body I had noticed at the time but was soon disappointed with that one being automatic and using plastic insert type tanks over your average clearomizer or tank you could remove and replace when refilling while the inserts were strictly disposable.

I sitill have some here I have to pass along to the person I passed the 601 onto while it was the 601c I had originally looking to get but off by one leftter! :( DSE601 ePipe Atomizer Body and DSE601c Cartomizer ePipe Body from Aqua Vapor Cig Electronic Cigarettes The "C" stands for Cartimizer and is 510 threaded like the 618.

If you are simply looking for any epipe there are numerous suppliers. One of the older Smok models takes 18650 size batteries while most take 18350s along with other 18500 mods. Some classy styled ones can be looked over at Hand-Crafted ePipes, custom made personal vaping devices from ePipeMods.com ...more than just an eCig
